Hey man, I work at swift now and plan to drive for them when I turn 21. If I drive with them for a year and a half with 15k saved up, you think I should be good to start at landstar and have a decent down payment for a truck?

Do you ever think about coming over to the van divison ? Man I know you will do good man I'm not experience with flatbed but I'm experience on buying a 20k truck also and I spend 35to38k last year in repairs it almost took me under man that's why I purchased this 2015 truck because I didn't want to go threw the stress of that again every dam day I was off i was fixing that dam truck man when I came over I told myself that shit ain't happening again are you setting the load alerts correctly thats a main thing to do correct to get those news loads plus once u know the lanes you get a better understanding on the rates and lanes I cant belive u net 800 in a week but it will get better man

Toll is all you they have bestpass that is like ezpass that could help you or getting your own ezpass is cool to some loads pay for toll but alot of loads they will pay like 60 or 70% of the toll its better then you paying 100%

Question on insurance and plates at Landstar, if I purchase a truck what was your plate/insurance process to get it from dealer? Since you will not have that until after your 120 truck inspection? Is there a temp plate or way to get temp insurance? Thanks
@TruckerDave2155 жыл бұрын
They sell 30days insurance policy I think I pay 200plus before I got to orientation landstar will send you the plates and temporarily insurance threw fed ex air it will come before orientation so all your stickers will be in that envelope dot info and logo and your plates and temporarily insurance the only thing you need insurance to take the truck out of the dealership and it wasnt expensive make sure you get landstar plates or you WILL PAY sales tax on your vehicle you need those landstar plates is 1700 not bad price hope that answer ure ?

Why don't you just set up a savings account and make your own tax deductions like employers do. deduct all you can and pay as little as possible at the end of the year and if you win, it's a bonus because you get to take the money for yourself.
