Two things Paul. The blue truck weighs less, so less friction needed to stop. Also I believe your blue truck is a stick. Generally speaking you use the engine to slow down rather than the brakes with a stick shift. Hope that helps.
@austinhemp94223 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, love your videos. I know you don't take many things apart, but breaker boxes are definitely worth the time. The breakers themselves have significant amounts of silver, and some #1 copper. They can be sold as is to many yards at a price similar to motors or transformers, or the silver can be removed and sold to a precious metals buyer. Also, there's some heavy copper busbar behind/in between the breakers, usually plated with silver or tin (can go as #2 copper or silver plated copper depending on yard,) but sometimes it's clean #1 copper busbar. Also, try to resell any decent looking light fixtures locally on Facebook, they almost always work. They're usually an easy $20+.

ON your brakes on the blue truck, having a clutch puts less pressure on stopping. usually you are pressing in on the clutch when you stop, which means it is in neutral. A vehicle that is in neutral is a lot easier to stop, thus less wear and tear on the brakes. That could explain it.

I have an 07 almost exactly like yours. Since buying it back in 2010 I've has to do the brakes 4 times and the rotors twice. It has 165k on it. I use it a a daily commuter and towed alot with it. Heavy trucks wear out brakes and rotors quicker just simply because of the weight involved to stop them. Dont skimp on quality brake parts. Have a great day!
@paulog88133 жыл бұрын
Concerning the brakes, there are some probable causes: 1) Automatics demand much more from the brakes than manuais, because you usually don’t reduce gears to use the engine brake. 2) More powerful cars also use more brakes. Even without noticing you are accelerating faster and consequently have to brake more. 3) the heavier the vehicle, the faster brakes will wear out. 4) overall condition of the vehicle 5) Not in your case, but different drivers brake differently. But even taking in consideration all those factors, more than 100k miles without a brake job, seems to much to me. Maybe you’ve done along the way and don’t remember. Anyway keep safe and happy to hear that your shoulder in better.
@ScrapPalletMan3 жыл бұрын
The mechanic said the Colorado requires the entire wheel assembly to be dismantled to do the brakes. And the charge is double. I've never even had pads changed. The only thing I do notice, is at high speed braking there's a wobble. I think one of my rotors is slightly warped
@beardedscrapper5383 жыл бұрын
One thing to consider with the blue truck. It is a standard. So instead of using the brakes to slow down you just down shift and use the motor to slow u down and brakes only to come to a complete stop.

As a Christian, the scrap business taught me to be humble, and not too flashy. You're right; own boss, make hours, meet some great people. For me it is not a hobby. Money is not always there even with many hours of work. Not sure if I wrote a book, or late night how/to info-commecial become rich in the scrap business would help me? Building up a scrap business from nothing is a proud achievement. Not sure if I would be underwritten for a stock option? But you're subject to scrap prices, high gasoline prices, finding nothing, no health insurance, vehicle breakdowns ECT. Sometimes people find you suspicious or something else while curb shopping/recycling. Humble and not flashing money seems to be my walk. Thanks for you're work and videos

Good day Paul from Ont. Boy the blue truck done well with brakes. I got 196,000 klms on my 2013 auto. I thought that was good. Anyways good load there, nice idea with milk crate. Thanks.

You left the coins in that dryer. I pulled 66.35 out of one dryer a few years back. Love your videos, keep them coming
