When aeiou is in pairs together, first alphabet is dropped. Just for info... Also pronunciations is not the proprietary of Americans or British. Pronunciations always takes the original speakers way as correct. Ex It's not Delhi but Dhilli. But Indians look up West for everything.. ✌️ BTW challenge should include German names.. Nobody will get anything right.

@Unbreakable Patches Read my comment again. It doesn't matter who calls what. Actual pronunciations is based on native speakers. Here Dhilli doesn't come from English lexicon, just coz British used to call it doesn't make it authentic. Also there are no two words of same place. Its not like a phenomenon or process. Mexico is Mehico.. San Jose is San Hose in pronunciations. Also similarly French/Italian names are derived from Latin. U can't have different version of it just coz British doesn't know Latin. That's why French names are still pronounced in French but Indian names are called in English version "only" coz affluent Indians suck everything Western. Heck, Indian Americans shorten their name to sound American.. Such buffoonery. Lest, everyone's choice. But don't thrust that as "authentic". U are not well read on this matter. So before commenting, go and read. Also technically no "India" only bharat but since constitution Art 1 declares it Indian/ Bharat, so legally legit. Otherwise all places in India have only 1 authentic pronunciation.

toronto's pronunciation (to-ronno) is done in american accent. In british accent its simply stated (to-ront- o). Given in cambridge dictionaries official website. check it if you want confirmation.
