It happened to me, in the form of a Job Offer. I was working for a company, selling TV, Internet, mobile plans, for commissions. They said they wouldn't control the hours you work (simply because they didn't pay for the hour), the days you work, that the job was easy and within months you could be managing your own office. The procedure: I had to be in the HQ everyday at 7:00 a.m, to receive motivational talks to "get myself ready" to start the cold-door visits at 9:00 a.m, and I had to achieve 80 or more visits every day. They said that, statistics-wise, I could make one or two sales everyday. And that never happened. After hundreds of visits, it was VERY hard to sell those contracts. You make a sell and depending on the product, you could get an average of $150 dollars, that would be paid in 2 weeks after the sale. While waiting, I still had to work for them, following their rules, like: Work 8 hours or more, always be on time at the office... If i didn't comply, I would be fired (of a job I never signed any contract) and my commissions would never be paid. You get the idea? They maintain this sick business by motivational talks, telling you to choose where your office would be in the future, that they would pay you 8K every month, that the job is easy to do, etc... At the office, I met a guy that was working them for 4 years... He never got the office, nor the money... he was being a victim of a vicious cycle that only favoured a very few people.

On Instagram, the 'money grams' always say to teach seminars, write e-books, and sell courses to get rich. I think that's probably the easiest way technically because a lot of businesses in buildings have a high over head due to rent and staffing

It is easy to con someone who is lazy/greedy. That is what a con is based on, each side of it.

Hhhmmm. Have to disagree somewhat. Cons, I feel, are more based on naitivity, lack of knowledge and optimism. U can't say a 70 y/o grandma who wanted to invest a part of her pension, hopeing to get a good return to help with her grandson's college fund was being lazy/greedy can u?
@jerkchicken_expertlyseasoned
@jerkchicken_expertlyseasoned 4 жыл бұрын
This is just lazy victim blaming done to support your just world fallacy. People fall for cons out of naivete, optimism, desperation, desire to help their loved ones or community, etc... plenty of reasons besides greed and laziness.

You guys are just better than those 'cons' you mentioned. I think we can use those for pumping up the motivation, but we should not pay any money to them. I also know that success needs not only just pumped-up motivation but more knowledge, research, execution, insight, effort, and luck.
