QUICK UPDATE: I've gotten a few messages from some of you saying NOT to use the Sense Controllers with this game (even though the Store listing says they're supported) and when you recognize something out of place, go back the way you came. Thanks for the feedback! And remember this if you decided to check this out and go for the 20 minute platinum! :D

How the heck does all this trash make it past QA and onto the store, while the good games get denied over and over.... Its not even like the odd game either, its like sony wants their platorm to look like a pile of garbage VR games. They should be internally firing their QA team and not the 1st party devs creating the good games! It feels like a major cash scam with no refund policy at this point. Thanks for continuing to bite the bullet for us, we really appreciate it!!!

Sony's QA is from a technical POV, I.E if the frame rate drops at anytime. They are not checking to see if it's a good or bad game, there would be lawsuits galore if they started doing that as developers would call bias. Games like this pass easily because there isn't much to them, it's not graphically or CPU intense so it passes Sony's stress test. There is a good chance during the QA nobody actually plays the game, its automatic button pushing and loading and quitting and loading again.

@@bobzarkoff Yeah I understand this for efficiency, but there so many games that get past this with stutters, bad bugs and glitches, the whole nine yards. It just feels like a horrible execution of their QA process which favours poor games over the big games. They really need people doing some more QA after it's gone through the Sony certification. Especially for these small games if you can run through them in a few hours. Being paid to play games for QA seems like a "dream job" for someone like me, especially if it was in VR.

I've been a QA at EA for almost 5 years. Certification at Sony, Nintendo etc. has nothing to do with how good/bad the game actually is. They have a long list of certain requirements that must be met, from legal stuff to stability (at least they used to). But most games would pass if they maintain a constant minimum average framerate (which you can partially dodge by ensuring that the first hour of gameplay is crisp) and they display all the proper symbols and shit. That's what they care most about. As an example, one of the NFS games failed cert because they used the wrong white on the Nintendo logo :)

I think I read somewhere that if you spot something out of place you're supposed to turn around and go back the way you came to get to the next iteration. But if there's no tutorial, that wouldn't exactly be obvious. Maybe the confusion was supposed to pad out the 30 minute to platinum runtime? The floating 10 feet above the ground is a ridiculous bug though. 🤣

Haha yeah that's been the case for most of them so far (although I did like Rainbow Reactor). Expect some more 3/3 Paw ratings in the future for games that I love but don't have time to make full reviews for! :D

Or games that have changed or been updated so much since they were originally relased, they could get a mini review update? 😎👍

I'm still amazed, that games like this get created and released.....what's going on? I've only been playing games since 1980, so I'm a noob, and I seems like the games industry is?.... running out of ideas? Counting our money and laughing? Or generally lost and forgot how to make and publish games that are decent and finished.

Thanks for the review, I was thinking of buying the game on PC but it looks horrible haha. Also! just in case someone likes the idea of reporting anomalies or stuff like that, The Exit 8 besides P.T. also takes inspiration from games like I'm On Observation Duty, where you must watch surveillance cameras and report anomalies, there are a lot of those games (and I love them, they're so much fun), they're not VR, but they're really cool

i will add SnowScout to my psvr2 wishlist if you tell me you will add or already have a semi decent downhill skiing slalom racing in snowscout VR, as a fun side activity. because i dont understand what there is to do when your not doing snow patrol job sim things in this snowscout game. im sure many more people would add this game to their wishlists if it had some fun side stuff to do when not scouting... or atleast promise to add a fun skiing DLC or something...

P.S. Sony PSVR2 has eyetracked DFR that would allow you to have a true sense of speed and make even a small slalom downhill skiing mini game AWESOME because frame rates wont be hit hard by the high speeds needed to pull off skiing in VR. Plus you will be filling a niche that has not been filled yet in VR. Sonys DFR is the game changer needed to do skiing correctly in VR in game or as a promised DLC. Carpe diem! ❤🎉❤🎉

@@avaron_VR_Gamecat hi, thanks for writing - yes, in fact one of your tasks as a Snow Scout is to open and test 21 different ski races, with the majority being downhill as well as some cross-country courses. All of them have individual online leaderboards ⛷

im pretty sure Sony QA only checks FPS and crash issues and that the game is completable even if it is not much to complete. QA needs to add time to complete requirement listed on Sony store to help limit cash grabs that can pass through the - "but its playable loophole." ...BP love the ZERO out of 3 rating, ty! :)

Just got this and didn't realise how trash it is, I just walk backwards and random trophies pop up that I was no where near. It's the first thing I tried and I found the exit to street ten in the first 20 seconds, total waste of money

This is something called ShovelWare. The developer isn't trying to sell the game, he is trying to sell a quick 10 minute platinum trophy. In flatscreen these Shovelware titles are a plague. I pray that this doesn't become a trend. I don't want to see 20 copy pasted games each week in VR.

Sony should enforce minimum standards because this kind of trash gives a bad image to their platform. I believe Sony should require minimum resolution standards and ensure the game is not a scam like this one. Additionally, there should be a return policy or a mandatory demo. If such policies existed, poorly made games or ports that take advantage of Sony's restrictive return policies wouldn't be released.
