SU - Love the arrangement as its closer to how its originally. TSU - I was there when they played played this. Still blown away by the arrangement. Got their own unique twist to it. Loving the bassline from the tuba section. FAMU - love the arrangement. Love the control at the beginning. JSU - the only thing i like was hearing the woodwinds close to the end.

Jackson added a lot of frill. They gave the woodwinds some love but the ending was bad. They need to clean it up.

Some of these announcers act like the old DJ’s by talking through the entire song. Bands in concert formation don’t need hype men. Please Please shut up and let the bands play. Use some strategy and know when to be quiet.

1. SOUTHERN- had the best arrangement by far. Crisp, clean yet powerful with emotion. 2. FAMU- great musicianship, nice full arrangement. 3. TNSU- arrangement seemed kind of dark and dull. 4.JSU - Arrangement needs to be scrapped and redone.

I going say 1.su 2.TS 3.FAMU 4.JSU that my order why I put in that order because SU can play any song and it sound good and don't care what anyone say and why TS 2 because hate say they sound good there and why FAMU 3 because they just saying like they was not there playing and why JSU 4 because I was not feeling them like the other band I like JSU but they was not playing good

I’m gonna have to say TSU first for the level of control. Then FAMU, then JSU, and Southern Last. Southern always feels the need to blow. But it drowns out sounds.

I think when u put together these comparison video it's always good to get each band in their Good Light, cause tbh they all sound Eeh.. But 🤷 I'll say #1 FAMU #2 SU and the other 2 can fight for last place...

FAMU sped the song up. They had volume but they took away the feeling by speeding it up. It’s like someone singing loud but not having a nice tone. 👎

FAMU was dreadful. It wasn't even the same song. In reality, only the chorus reminds you of what song THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE PLAYING. No band should perform after SU. Fundamentally, every arrangement was flawed except Southerns NOT b/c of their musicianship BUT BECAUSE they were the most honest. This song is sadness mixed w/longing & hope. Those emotions were divorced from the other bands' performances. #1 SU DISQUALIFIED - TSU, FAMU, JSU. WHY? B/c the central theme & essence of this song is a lament - a cry for love lost or gone AND the song's main instrument is Johnny Gill's voice married w/the song's haunting chorus. I have no idea what the other three arrangers hoped to convey/impart w/the fanfares, dramatic stops & other shenanigans. Honest arrangement is best & one of SU's keys to success.
