My expectations of all politicians is always very low, yet they continue to astound with their contempt for the electorate, whether they voted for them or not.

Perhaps a look at demographics and policies might be a good indicator. Don't waste your time applying for any role in his administration if you happen to be a white anglo-saxon male.

Ultimately this race will only come down to 2 parties. Labour and Conservative. The City of London use to be very Conservative it's since become very Labour. You watch the General Elections it'll mostly be red. Side point most Conservative candidates that have been put against Sadiq Khan haven't been popular, the Tories ultimately haven't been putting strong candidates into the Mayor Elections. Regardless of people's personal opinions on Boris Johnson he could get votes and he could win Elections. He was the last Conservative with any hopes of winning the mayor Elections who was ever put forward (which of course he did win) and its important to remember one of the reasons the Conservatives backed him for Mayor was because it kept him out of Parliament. In short the Conservatives don't win the Mayor's job because they're not popular in London, they put forward candidates who won't win unless it's a candidate they want to sideline.

Khan seems to be saying that's unfair and he feels that money belongs to him, so he's burdening the motorists further (in the name of cleaning the air, when as you say, it's about money) As for government money for TFL, I never quite enderstand how you Brits can't run public transport properly. From what I hear, it's unreliable, expensive AND receives pots of tax payers money.
