Can tell it’s not stock by how you have enough low end to lug it around and the power still picks up and gets into the mid without slipping the clutch. Ride my 125 in the trails as well and go up a lot of steep stuff here in Colorado, had to throw a 51 tooth sprocket on it but if you carry momentum and work the bike right, you can get thru some gnarly stuff. Riding a 125 hard, being in rhythm/flow is so satisfying

Is your 125 a yz? Because YZs are known for down low power. Obviously not as much as the bike in the video, but I don't think you should really need to keep it on the pipe to make it up an incline.

@@foolwithatool2052 My Kx112 can lug all day. I think people don't pay attention to thier PV maintmance and it struggles to close when it should, and it loses all of its low end grunt. I think the 125 / 150 class is the most fun bike out of the 2 stroke class. MX bikes on trails are tons of fun. I think its a good idea, if you can , a 300 for the gnar and a 125 or 150 for the fun factor on trails that let you hit the pipe

I think that it really comes down to personal opinion, I had a yz144 with a PC pipe force reeds and all. It had decent power but unless you want to be constantly at around 15,000 rpms then its not a good bike for you you have to keep it pinned CONSTANTLY. If you are a decent rider in my opinion it would be way better to get a 250 2t with much better torque compared to a 125 and not much heavier.
@Bryan_327
@Bryan_327 11 ай бұрын
either you weigh 250 lbs or your bike is not doing well power wise. a 125 has good enough low end tourque without slipping the clutch. if your a good enough rider and your not a heavy rider. only people that hate on 125s are heavy riders or people who ride 450s expecting it to feel the same.
@bikersoncall
@bikersoncall 10 ай бұрын
@@Bryan_327 So a rider at 120 to 130 lbs would not really want or need better low end torque with this bike in enduro, and hard enduro situations. Can you bring the front wheel up with ease, without having to hit the top revs, as in jumping over logs etc? I haven't had a 2t yet, but would so love the much simpler engine design and maintenance issues.

I’m 6’ tall, 190lbs, riding a YZ125X. It’s my first 2-stoke. Lower rpms can require a little clutch work to keep momentum/avert stalls on the trail in certain situations. Up top, it hauls the mail. Think Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The 125 2-stroke doesn’t have the linear torque curve, engine braking, and weight of a 250 4-stroke. However, I find the 125 to be WAY more fun than any other dirt bike I’ve owned. In short, the 125 is plenty of bike for most adults 200lbs under.
