Another great video there Teach. I am definitely looking forward to the rest of this series. I for one can see when my arm drifts to the left after the shot that it is going to be a bad shot. I have never tuned my old 06 PSE just moved the sight housing and pins around and I did barely move my whisker biscuit once.

The full length video should be interesting. I recently worked with two extremely different arrows (.340, 29”, 123 gr pt and .150, 27”, 150 gr pt) out of the same bow (29/60). The stiffer spine tore considerably higher nock, but fairly easy to adjust to a bullet hole. Now, I want to go back to the .340 to see how that hole looks.

Get face pressure down, if you get that down it's a lot easier to tune. Without that, your face can throw arrows off, it doesn't seem like it, but when you have less holding weight it's easier to move the string around. If you need proof, take your bow, try to use a bow scale and move the string to the left or right when the bow is not drawn, then do it again when it is drawn. Less holding weight makes this easier to mess up. Hope this helps!

Hey Jack love your vids, What's your take on metal D-loops? I personally enjoy tying on a new D-loop but could it be a good choice for someone like my dad who doesn't know how nor does he really care that much to learn. He doesn't shoot that often so I don't think it would be worth it if it wears out the serving quicker than usual.

They're a massive accident waiting to happen. One popped screw or one torque of the string and you have all kinds of injuries and bow problems. Stick to the dloop string material. :)

Do you have a video that shows what causes an arrow to shoot way off to the left or right. Mine shoots 2 ft to the left of the target at 20 meters? I'm using a 50 lb. Bow with a non movable shoot through rest. The cock feather goes between two tines on the rest. The arrow is centered on the arrow rest, using the string which is about 3 mm off dead center on the bow limb cam system. The nock is at the correct height. And the arrow wants to porpoise down ward to. To me the bow is tuned. The bare shaft arrow is a 2016 aluminum Easton Game Getter. The fletched arrows shoot fairly straight but wobble a bit. They have a 100 gr. points. This is a 1990 Pearson compound bow. If you have time any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you done very much with B.E. rampage I'm still trying to figure there spine chart for the rampage since they come standard with a 50g outsert Do you take that 50g add it to you feildpoint/ broadhead weight so at that point your tip weight actually increased? Or is that 50g already factored in to the spine weight?
@averagejackarchery
@averagejackarchery 3 жыл бұрын
That I don't know with the BE chart. I'm very unfamiliar with their arrows as they're not popular up my way.

I have experimented as you have through paper tune and have found different nocks shot differently. I found Bohning double locks most consistent compared to gt, Easton,ect.

I think it is the nock to string tension that makes the difference. Your thoughts?
@averagejackarchery
@averagejackarchery 3 жыл бұрын
@@danfegan5086 Yes. I shot GT nocks for years for their beef, but they didn't agree with all center servings. Too tight in some cases. Don't have that issues with the double lock. They've fit everything I've shot them on.

Please help. After watching many videos I’m trying to decide if I’ve got a reasonable setup. I’m currently shooting a Parker Trailblazer at 53 pounds with a 27” draw. I’m shooting 27.5, 400 Victory Decimator arrows with a standard 100 gr. tip. Any insight you might offer is much appreciated. Thank you.

This is late for your post, but when you say 8 Ft. for your shot, exactly where is that measured from- your leading foot, your bow hand knuckles at full draw? I'm not sure where to measure 8 ft ??
@averagejackarchery
@averagejackarchery 3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I start at 8ft like a shooting line: I'm straddling the line. But then I also bump back to 12 and 15ft lines to further confirm.
