Cherry is so lucky her parents stay in Canada. My parents don't come and live with me in US for more than 2 or 3 months. I left US and came back to India from 2016 to 2021 but neither I was happy with work culture, my kid was struggling with pollution and school and wife was not happy either. All of us were getting depressed and frustrated which was ruining our family life. We moved back, now trying to convince my parents to come on long term as we gave our best shot. I live in Texas where it does not snow or is not cold at all. I am a US citizen so I can easily sponsor their green card but alas.

It’s a same story with me, but we should let our parents live where they feel happy and comfortable. It’s almost impossible to adapt to a new place and culture at this old age. But you should keep visiting them as often as you can. If that’s not possible at least phone call them every day.
