This is the first song that appears in the movie. Imagine as a kid, watching this in theatres all those years ago and being gobsmacked by this song and thinking this is a sound i have never heard...It really changed the music of our movies forever...for a lot of us, the ARR fan moment started with this song...❤❤

Superb song, enchanting lyrics depicting the innocence of a village girl letting out her wishes like a small child.. Actually what she desires / wish are larger than life but she says its just small small wishes that flops it's feathers in her mind ... Meanings of few lines i would like to present here .. vennilavu thottu muthamida aasai.. Means - want to touch the Moon and i wish to kiss it .. Ennai indha bhoomi sutri vara aasai.. means - I wish, let this world revolve around me .. Thendralaik kandu maalai ida aasai.. means - meet the cool breeze and i wish to garland it.. Vaanavilai konjam uduthikkolla aasai.. means - wish to , wear the (colorful ) Rainbow as my dress Panithulikkul naanum paduthukolla aasai.. means - Wish that i sleep deep inside the ( cold morning ) dew drop.

In south Indian languages like 'Tamil' and 'Malayalam', the word 'Asai' or 'Asha' has the meaning of desire or wish. In the famous Disney movie 'Wish' the Heroine's name is 'Asha'. The Heroine's name had a purpose in it. When I saw this movie I could easily relate to this being an Indian. I too have a few friends with the name Asha.

Bro.. listen to the song 'Chikku Bukku Raile' from Gentleman. A.R.
