As a Serbian I must say, it will be very difficult tomorrow for Serbia, we miss Jokic for these "NBA" style matches, also Canadians are very fast and physical, we have little chance of making it to the finals, but we will play with dignity and as a team. The Slovenians lacked team play, Dončić took a lot of balls for himself, their only solution was 3-point shots, but they lacked elaborate actions, faster movement of the ball and passes into the racket court.

Congrats Slovenija, no matter the loss. They must be the biggest warriors in the tournament. Luka is an amazing player. SGA is one of my favorite players in the NBA and Canada is really strong at this tournament.

The no-call at 4:45 and 9:25 are the reaso I love this officiating as opposed to the NBA, in this case Luka is the one throwing his body into the defender and cries that he should be rewarded with a foul and free throws, unfortunately in the NBA this does happen way too often, interrupting the flow of the game and awarding an insane amount of free throws, this is why flopping is a big thing in the NBA.

💯 ... would love to see this level of physicality and defense in the NBA. NBA Playoffs will occasionally have it... depending on refs and how they feel that day. FIBA WC and Olympic Ball brings out the purity of the game..... looking forward to 24' olympics when all the top dawgs go at it!

I like how casuals always see whats wrong with a player they dont like, but are completely clueless when their favorite player does the exact same thing. There were atleast 5 scenarios in this game where Shai did the exact same thing as Luka did. One got a call and one didn't. I can understand Luka's frustration completely, but he needs to start getting over it and not complain because it never works in his favour (i would understand if he actually got some positive calll from it but he never does)

That’s because you are focused on the player and not the defence. Canadas defence was much better for many reasons. Mainly because luka walk back, putting his players out of position so they were guarding multiple players and using their hands and not their feet. You are focusing on luka and shai and not on the defensive stances and schemes. Slovenia was fouling more because of their defence. Also luka was foul baiting and shai was playing through contact for the purpose of scoring. Foul baiting only works if the defender isn’t in the proper stance which brooks and dort were many times. Hence why he didn’t get those calls because he was the initiator and they didn’t lose their composure He never gets positive calls? He has the most free throws in fiba and top 3 in the nba. I don’t understand what he and people want? Should he have double the free throws of everyone else to be happy? Why not just let him walk to the net in that case and just stop playing defence

The of people on here and especially in the FIBA social media comments complaining about refs is ridiculous. Canada has more athletic players and the more craftier players. These two characteristics are who get fouled the most on the court because they are hard to defend. Slovenia also was extremely undisciplined. They literally didn't know how to guard this game and when you have a player like Shai who knows how to manipulate defenders, of course hes going to go to the freethrow line alot. Its hilarious how much complaining is aimed at the North American teams. I understand the eagerness to want to knockout NBA filled rosters but really? Not sure if its because of football culture but the amount of baseless complains Europeans do is crazy. 🤦‍♂️😅

I have to wonder if people complaining about calls actually watched the game? Serbia was playing hacking undisiplined defense and Luka was flopping from the tip off. Canada was also attacking the basket while Slovenia was a mostly 3pt attack so actually, Canada DESERVED more calls.
