True. But you can still settle down in the Piastri, Russell, Hamilton area and gain a ton of budget if MER smashes it in Spain. They’ve both finished top 5 in the last 2 season. Russell with 2 podiums!

My top 8 drivers on the grid are VER, LEC, NOR, HAM, ALO, SAI, RUS, ALB. I'd like you to focus on ALB for green flag, yellow flag, red flag. It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts after Williams has brought upgrades and now ALB is so similar in price to BOT/ZHO. I had 56 points with 2x LEC - STR - TSU - MAG - HUL - MCL - FER. I almost used the final fix on Leclerc to get Russell, but once I had done and redone the calculations, I realised it would only save me about 10 points. It turned out it would've saved me about 100! Oh well, I guess this triple header will be a great way for me to claw my way back up towards the top 10k after two disastrous weekends (110 points in Monaco with RBR, MAG and HUL) I have 114.2M in my budget, so it's not great but not a complete disaster either. My early thoughts for Monaco are to get VER in as the RB20 should be dominant with the low ride height Red Bull can run in Barcelona, a stark difference to Montreal. I think VER is essentially guaranteed the win in Barcelona. So I would run 2x VER - MAG - TSU - HUL - SAR - MCL - FER or 2x VER - TSU - HUL - ALB - BOT (going straight to SAR would let me roll a transfer). Another option is 2x VER - MAG - TSU - GAS - HUL - FER - MER to keep a strong midfield. If MER is particularly impressive, I could run 2x HAM - LEC - MAG - TSU - SAR - FER - MER before potentially deploying the wildcard to get to a build with VER and RBR. Sorry for the long comment, I have a ton of ideas!

I love it. The enthusiasm is contagious. It’s a great point about Red Bull in Barcelona. I reckon the team will be on a mission to show they are all the way back and Max is still the dominant driver. MER could struggle with ride height so I’ll have to keep that in mind. However, they’ve both finished top-5 in the last two years at this race!

@@f1fantasypoleposition Yeah, MER seem like a great budget-friendly option for budgets less than 115M to fit a second premium driver into their lineup. However, with a sprint weekend coming up, I'm thinking of moving towards VER. If not for Barcelona, definitely Austria, so I don't have much to gain from the extra few million.

I missed the Monaco DNF’s but had Ferrari & LEC in Canada. My budget increased $7 million over the 2 races. Now I don’t have to have Sargent.

Right now I’m at $117.3 and playing with F1 Fantasy Tools. I have so many options at this price. I have the same team as you except BOT for ZHO. Want to keep MER & HAM, but every other position is open for ideas.

Great episode Euan! I'm on the same budget as you. My early thoughts are maybe going LEC> Max and PIA> STR which leaves me with BOT HUL TSU + FER MER. Just trying to think ahead to Austria as well. On the other hand It's hard not to think about a Lando build as he always has a great race in Austria. perhaps we do not need Max there?

Thanks Michael! We have very similar teams. I’m tempted by the Wildcard to make bigger changes, but patience is probably a better idea at this point. Grabbing stroll is a good idea in case he moves up a tier after Spain!

@@f1fantasypoleposition I survived best I could, swapped in VER on X2, and added MER. But still had FER there so got -16 with them. Total points was 181 which I'm happy with, as I would have gone way more minus with my initial setup of LEC at X2 :)

Had HUL in Monaco and LEC(x2)-FER in Canda so not great but could have been much worse. On the plus side had HAM-GAS-HUL so got their £1m's. Currently sat at £121.3m and my Spain team will be a transition team into my Austria team. Aiming for FER-MER-VER-LEC-GAS-ZHO-SAR but need 4 transfers from current team (have 3 so could -10 to get it for Spain). If budget rises could swap SAR for someone or upgrade LEC to NOR so would DRS boost. Other options is a FER-MER-LEC-RUS-PIA-ZHO-SAR build which only needs smallish rise next race to get there, no VER but triple premium driver could be interesting, but all rests on MER staying a viable option. Still want to milk the last bit of budget out of FER assets before just focusing soley on points as think MCL assests are overall the best options at the moment.

That’s an awesome budget, Andy. I like the idea to look ahead to Austria with your transfers. I’m guessing we will all want Max back in and if you can afford him and LEC it may not be a bad shout to activate the Extra DRS!

This definitely was a week where I made a risky move and it paid off. I believed in Mercedes and it paid off massively. 235 points and 3.5 million gained. The only DNF I had in this stretch of DNFs was Hulkenberg for me. I probably am going to be 1st in the league for a while it seems.

Great vid! In terms of Logan Sargent, is there such a thing as D-Tier assets? The gap between him and the next cheapest driver just keeps getting bigger lol

When he was really cheap last season ($3.5M?) he kind of broke the pricing algorithm for a race. I don’t think they will move him down a tier because just finish a race would give him a $2m price rise haha

@@f1fantasypoleposition not really. It's quite steady from the start. I was lucky to get rid of Magnussen & Hulkenberg for Monaco, and to change Ferrari for Mercedes in Canada. I've got hit by Leclerc's DNF only. #1 team: $123.0 #2 team: $122.8 (+$3.5 despite Ferrari) #3 team: $119.5
