German has no "th", so we often struggle to learn this sound. Some English learners replace it with a "sharp s", that's how the "sinking" became "thinking". Great commercial for a language school!

There was a vowel shift. In German the "th" sound was replaced by a "d" sound almost everywhere.

The "th" Sound is a pronouciation mistake in german language. I guess thats why it is so hard for us.

Hi, Mace! The last one: It reminds of the Hollywood movie "The silence of the lambs" with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.

8:11 the last one was apparently a commercial for a horror movie channel on cable tv… got that one from my provider, as part of a package deal too… but I’ve never really watched any programme on it…

I'm not sure if this was the top 5 funniest German commercials. We had a lot better back in the 90s. There was a Toyota ad where a couple tries to kill each other to have the car for themselves or the one where Ronald Mc Donald gets a Burger at Burger King. :) And some other good ads.

I know 4 of the 5 brands, but I never seen these commercials before! And I watched TV, before streaming even existed

I'm pretty sure I encountered the ones for Obi and Gelbe Seiten when they aired on TV ages ago.

i dont think so with the sound... When you get the best headphones you can get for your budget you can easily compete with a speaker setup 1000$ more expensive.

Just a few tips for German accents (just fyi): No German pronounces W as V. Well, Einstein did. No modern German does (if they actually speak English). Not even the guy in the commercial is doing it and his English (in the ad) is terrible for a German ^^ The TH as S thing I have heard from someone our age but only once in my life. And I noticed you doing the Bond villain speaking melody that people always use for some reason. We don't have that. Almost sounds like a mix of stereotypical Swedish and German. Germans tend to speak with quite the monotone. Think low in your vocal register. Just lower your voice a little, keep it there and take out some of the emotion :D A random KZfaqr (records videos in English) that comes to mind for quite the typical (real) German accent would be DocM77. That said, there isn't one German accent, there are quite a few distinct ones. But that one is rather common.

But we will definately pronounce Z as "zet" ... not sure on which side Canada is with that letter... but Germany agrees with the UK here 😁

Actualy, the TH as S is very common. That's even how many teachers teach the pronouncition. Mine did, too. As far as I got this, this pronounciation is quite common in the region of Oxford, so it is somehow considered upper class english. I've also seen this "typical german accent" so many times... For example every time a german magician participates in "Penn and Teller: Fool us", they will have this TH as S accent.
