In addition to playing the hurdy-gurdy(the green one), she also recorded the nyckelharpa for this single. The Hurdy Gurdy is thought to be traced back to 911 and the Nyckelharpa goes back to around 1408.

I don’t see many Patty reactions on KZfaq! I’ve been a fan for a couple of years since she covered Over the Hills and Far Away. She wants to represent Germany at Eurovision (her home country). Anyway, calls herself Patty Gurdy because she plays the Hurdy Gurdy and has recently been experimenting with the sounds she gets out of it by putting electronic pick-ups on it 😁. A talented artist.

Now that you have discovered this AWESOME artist, do some research into her and her history. For example this video was recorded in a small temp studio after her home got flooded out in Germany. Her 1st language is NOT English. The rest I will leave for you to discover and I am jealous of you for getting to experience her stuff for the first time. Your next stop/listen should be her version of Molly Malone. Enjoy the trip your gonna luv it!!
