I think all 3 had hot peppers in them. The amount of hot pepper in them are different. Sometimes, the hot peppers were not spread evenly, and it depends where you bite on, too. Somen parts have no hot pepper on it, so when eating that part, it will not be spicy.

I heard different pronunciations as the video rolled. It is pronounced “bahn - me” not “bahn - mai” or “bahn - may“. France brought baguettes to Vietnam thru colonization. They definitely made a tasty creation with it. Other Vietnamese foods or drinks that are famous for westerners are: ~Pho, the most famous food that came from Vietnam. I would recommend it. If you decide to try it, you have to try it at the restaurant. It can’t be delivered. ~Vietnamese coffee, if you are adventurous Vietnamese egg coffee ~Vietnamese spring rolls with peanut sauce My favorite is Vietnamese shaken beef. It is so delicious it kinda makes your eyes roll back in your head. 76,000 Vietnamese people reside in Toronto. You’ll find some great spots there. You opened up a big can of deliciousness trying Vietnamese food for the first time. I hope you get to try these @The Trips!

I LOVE BAHN MI! I'm glad you liked them and have that ability to change the spice level. I personally would go for the medium spicy LOL! Great video guys!

Thanks Judy! We were happily surprised with this sandwich, great alternative to the usual subs in our area. Give Prada a let for us! Take care 😊

You have to dip the sandwich into the pho, Vietnamese soup, as you eat it. I get the pho tai which is the sliced rare round steak that cooks in the soup.

Just enjoy it! Complaining about how spicy it was the entire video. Lady in the middle tells me she thinks black pepper is hot.

yum I like Bahn mi, I go for mild, but it is nice spicy as well. Cambodia has a version of Bahn mi too, slightly different. Vietnamese food is delicious. Unfortunately my city or in New Zealand not too many Vietnamese restaurants. I miss having more Vietnamese food like pho and other Vietnamese food like in Australia with bigger Vietnamese communities. The Bahn mi looked delicious :)

Love Banh Mi. Never had one that wasn't super fresh. Great bread too. Fun idea with the initial blind tasting. Since y'all are starting out pretty pedestrian with the sammich gotta pair it up with a nice Pho (pronounced Fuh) *it's soup.

Bahn? Mi (Me) Banh - say it like you're asking a question Mi- (Me) the "ee" part is about a note lower Vietnamese is spoken using a lot of throat sounds. Inflections are usually focused on the vowels.

Traditionally, the only spicy part of Banh Mi are the jalepenos, which can be easily picked out. I guess your Banh mi spot has a different spin on it. And for all the people that are recommending you eat Banh Mi with pho, thats not something i've ever seen anyone do as a Vietnamese person.

How come it’s the “spicy” you’re talking about banh mi??? It’s not Korean Spicy Instant Noodles, isn’t it???? I swear even if there’s no spicy it still tastes good. And there are so many kind of “nhân” which is what they stuff inside the bread such as cold cut, lemongrass grilled chicken/pork (my fav) or pork floss, the list goes on. Please try those and do talk about how the combinations actually taste 😅
