Ireland made history in ESC. Staging was totally out of this world.

Voted as the best produced staging on the Eurovision stage ever. And don't mess paganism and satanism, that's two different things.

I always find it funny people saying they didnt expect this from Ireland. Catholicism aside (which is not as popular anymore) we have a history of paganism, Hallowe'en has origins here and we created dracula! We've always been a bit dark
@LocalEClown2 күн бұрын
@EmmaKiely That IS true! I guess it's still a somewhat stereotype of Ireland. I've watched alot of Jacksepticeye back in the day and he used to talk about how religion was a focus in ireland when he was a kid! But I never really looked up anything more about it since! I did not know about Dracula thata dope. Always loved Ireland 💚

Ireland used to be very Catholic, not Christian. And the Catholics really hated this song. Apparently they sent in a protest list trying to stop Bambie Thug from representing Ireland. 😆

Ireland is no longer a very Christian country.
@LocalEClown5 күн бұрын
oh really? I thought I heard something like 80% of the country conciders themselves very catholic or something? Maybe I'm wrong 😅
@tonyttt315 күн бұрын
@@LocalEClown have you been to Ireland recently? Church-going numbers are less than 20%. Vast majority of people have very little respect for the church. We passed marriage equality in a referendum with 68% for. This isn't a very Christian country. It has a legacy of Catholicism. You are wrong.
@tilltil095 күн бұрын
Well that's because those in black cloth abused kids and then some people hating on bambie coz they are in black 😂😂 Irish is still very catholic just not AS and I don't blame them after all the scandels and the way they were treated in Madeline laundries and their kids taking off them 😢 ps bambie thug is the new Irish lady ga ga I love they're song love bites such a different contrast to doomsday blue

@@tonyttt31 Totally agree. And I love that in this performance Bambie is channelling our pagan past, pre-Christianity and bringing it into modernity. Irish people will generally identify as catholic but they don't really practice it, as you say, and it's not really a relevant part of our lives, but I think some small 'positives' stick with Irish people - they are generous and kind, giving and happy to make sacrifices for others. So yea, catholicism and the church are just not relevant to very much any more.
@Kate-v9d4 күн бұрын
I agree, however, many of us are still very spiritual though, just ask any Irish person. They will tell you they don't feel the need to go to mass/church, one can watch your local church online, in most places, so we have not lost our religion, we are still very spiritual.
