Sup yall! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Finally, this New Year's Special video is out! :D It was so much fun to film with my friend Dean. We had a chance to taste Russian sweets from on of our local Russian supermarkets here in Montreal, called Épicure. We enjoyed the experience very much, and we hope you enjoy our video as well.
Thank you for all the people who suggested us some snacks back in my poll. Also, thank you for your patience while waiting for this video. We had more than an hour of footage to work with, and we have cut out much more than half. Moreover, making all the subtitles by hand is very long, so all of this combined made it late in posting the final video.
Once again, we wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022! :D
PS: STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT REACTION! ;)
I would like to thank each and everyone of my subscribers thus far, and I hope we grow together! :D

Yesss! Finally the sweets video loved it 😍. Really glad you took my suggestion and chose Maysky tea. We definitely need a part 2 of sweets. Here's the list of unique sweet experiences if you want to: 1) Зефир or Зефир в шоколаде ( zefir or zefir in chocolate) 2) Пастила Белевская (pastila Belevskaya) 2) Безе (beze) 3) Козинак ( kozinak made of peanuts specifically) 4)Халва (halva made of sunflower seeds) 5) Печенье Юбилейное топленое молоко( yubileynoye biscuit baked milk flavor) 6)Клюква в сахаре ( sugar coated cranberries) 7) Тульский пряник( Tulsky pryanik specifically pretty please it's good I promise) 8) They actually might have cantaloupe flavored jelly candy in the store( I ate the one dipped in sugar) 9) Гусиные лапки("geese feet" candy) 10)Сливочная помадка ("creamy lipstick" candy) 11) Чак-чак("chuck-chuck") Sorry for the long list but the store might not have all of it. Just ask the workers they will help . Also if you want a different type of Russian food video like soups salads drinks or dishes let us know.

@@IntricatelyRandomAsian In our family, all the men eat all the condensed milk if you don't have time to take it from them. In Soviet times, this product was in short supply. The father pierced the jar with a needle from below, sucked out all the milk and put the empty jar back. During the hike, our school physical education teacher drank several cans on a bet. For some, this product is like a drug, if you see condensed milk, they will not be able to pull you by the ears, like a bear from honey.

It is in the Philippines that you can eat fresh fruits and vegetables all year round. And in Russia, there is a need to store everything in the winter. In supermarkets in winter, not everything happens in summer and is very expensive. The fact that relatives grew:plums, абрикОсы(apricots), etc. are dried in the sun, and then these сУшки(dried fruits) are eaten in winter.

It wass VERY intertaining to look at your reactions guys xD PS: Both of you are good-looking people, it's nice to see your modesty. Dean have great misical voice by the way! 00:20 Pity you not found Babaevsky chocolate from your list - i like it better compared to Alyonka, it mostly dark chocolate. My favorite flavor is with whole almonds. 14:20 Apricot in chocolate is not very popular, some like it, some do not xD As a child, I did not liked them, then in a time I started to like the taste)) But at the same time I am not much of fan of jelly candies, which have become your favorites)) Everyone has different tastes here. 18:20 How are we drink our tea? It often depends on how many sweets we have on our table)) If there is something small, we would drink fast. If we have many sweets like you guys had or a piece of a pie or cake for example - we drink slower to have some tea at the end on each snack and bite. 20:15 Boiled condensed milk is very popular in Russia and you can find it as filling in candy, gingerbread, pastries and cakes etc. It tastes a little tiny bit similar to caramel yeah.

I don't like boiled condensed milk either. I love condensed milk, but I don't like boiled condensed milk, which is in many sweets (cookies and sweets) in Russia...Good(хорОший) tea(чАй) sounds different than just good(хорошО). Adjectives have other endings. You took black tea with the addition of fragrant thyme (чабрЕц, тимьЯн). In Russia, they usually drink black tea without additives and add a slice of lemon in winter or raspberry jam to black tea to improve immunity. The Russian Empire had a trade surplus with all countries in the world...almost, even the leading countries bought from Russia at a higher cost than they sold to Russia. The only country from which Russia bought more is China and mostly it was tea. India, Ceylon, Kenya and others were colonies of Britain. Russia bought tea only in China.

"варёная" - boiled, "сгущёнка" = "сгущённое молоко" - Condensed milk => this is Boiled Condensed Milk taste (Yes, that taste is like caramel + milk, because condensed milk almost always mixed up with sugar, and... if you boil the sugar you got a caramel). Just check the wiki page about condensed milk (that is a base form before it boiled), then next you need to check wiki page about "Dulce de leche" (similar to the boiled condensed milk), and after this reading, maybe you found that this "boiled condensed milk" can be a base for "Toffee" (or milk iris). The idea of making condensed milk belongs to "French inventor of airtight food preservation Nicolas Appert", but the technology was brought to use later by Gail Borden Jr. in the USA in 1853 (From the same holy wiki). An apricot in sweets cannot be fresh, "dried fruit" is poured into chocolate - a specially dried apricot (Курага), sometimes "prunes" (Чернослив or dried plums). Dried fruit is a kind of canning. This is a way to store vitamins and nutrients for a very long time. Without liquid and properly stored, bacteria have no chance here. There are also sweets not only poured with milk chocolate, but also poured with white or dark chocolate, sprinkled with cocoa, coconut flakes or poured with something like yogurt. A berry that your friend liked the taste of in a jelly (actually marmalade) candy - "Барбарис" - berberis. I don't know why so many people don't like jelly and marmalade. If they are made correctly from natural juices, then these are wonderful sweets, but honestly, I am not a lover of sweets and living in Russia, I prefer imported snacks like Snickers, Bounty, Picnic, Wispa, Ritter Sport, Milka chocolate, Twix, Kit-kat ... The wife sometimes bakes gingerbread. And more than one chocolate bar in the evening with tea or coffee, I usually do not eat. As a child, I got to my mom's big box of candy and ate too much food poisoning, it seems. After that I am little bit indifferent to sweets.

The best idea about Russian cuisine is to visit a real Russian family where all the food is made at home or come to Russia to visit Russians and taste the treats (see how the Germans did it and were shocked by such a delicious dinner) or watch videos from others who made a gastronomic journey through Russia and got acquainted with the cuisine of different regions of Russia (it is very different depending on the region of Russia, since 196 nationalities live in Russia). For many centuries of living together, dishes and recipes have often been mixed up, and for example, dishes of Caucasian cuisine are easy to meet in the kitchen of a family from Moscow or Kamchatka, and so on. Sometimes foreigners sign such videos in Russian, so it's worth coming up with a phrase like 1Russian food1 or -I eat at a Moscow restaurant - something like that, translate it into Russian and put it in the search box. I have seen hundreds of these videos. The girl in a scarf on chocolate is called Alyonka (from an old Russian fairy tale). The Soviet Brand with this girl has not been measured since 1968. But there are other equally famous Russian chocolate brands. For example, Chinese tourists make the shelves with Russian chocolate empty - each tourist takes 10-20 chocolate bars.

русское чаепитие подразумевает кушать сладости и запивать их чаем. а просто конфеты "точить" это не то. многие пьют чай без сахара, но заедают сладостями вместо этого.

you made a big mistake. bought the cheapest sweets and chocolates. It is necessary not to write out the names from the comments, but to take a Russian who has just recently arrived from Russia and make purchases with him. ))))))))) I feel sorry for you. eat soy chocolate with palm oil.
