@@nerdy_dav ummm... hate to tell you, but one of the qualifications to be a planet is to orbit the... umm... sun in a steady, nearly circular orbit!! and the argument that pluto isn't a planet is because it also has to "clear it's neighbourhood" which means that to be a planet, it must be the only object on it's orbit, but pluto crosses into neptune's orbit which technically disqualified it. just to clarify, the moon is a satalite just like the moon of every other planet... if the earth and the moon were a binary planetary system, then jupiter and it's moons would be a super multi system because jupiter has many moons... Pluto shares its orbit with objects from the Kuiper Belt, which is the reason it has been demoted to dwarf planet status. The Moon is not a dwarf planet because it violates the first requirement, which states it must be "...in orbit around a star, but is not itself a satellite."

@@helloitsme7553 Mars and Mercury are smaller than the earth. Venus and Earth are pretty similar, but Venus is slightly smaller. So inside the solar system, there would only be 4 correct anwsers.

don't forget people, this isn't a trivia show, it's trying to guess what other people would say. jupiter SHOULD be the only answer because it is the largest in our solar system, but not everyone (especially in canada evidently) know this...

it is a well known fact that the sun is much larger than the sun, and since the moon can block out the sun during an eclipse, then by the transitive property, that makes the moon larger than the earth (isn't that how it works?)

@@tedparker640 how did they even come to that conclusion. I mean distance is the most contributing factor on why the moon can cover the sun during an eclipse. But that doesn't mean it is the same size as the sun. 🤦‍♀️

actually, the moon fits NONE of the qualifications of being a dwarf planet, and fits ALL of the qualifications of a satellite (which most people would call a moon, hence the name) go back to kanada

The only reason it doesn't qualify as a dwarf planet is because it is too big. The definition of a planet has three parts: It must orbit the sun, be roughly spherical because of it's gravity, and have cleared its path. - The moon does orbit the sun together with the earth. A rejection of the moon as orbiting the sun means rejecting the entire concept of 2 planet systems. If the earth was absent the moon would still orbit the sun in the same track and it would have cleaned it. - The moon is spherical. - The moon would have cleared its path on its own if the earth was not there to help. Are police officers expected to have intelligence? Idk how it is in Canada, but in the US a lot of cops are a bit dumb because it's a field that people go in when they aren't academic. Here you don't need college to be a police officer.
