As someone who grew up carping on the grand union and having my first twenty and thirty from canals this place is an absolute dream. Don't know what it is about canals but I love them.

At a time of over-produced, commercialised carp videos its like a breath of fresh air to see some honest angling without any of the rubbish normally associated with modern carping

Another great video Jim. Just seeing the bivvy set up in the long grass, with so little angling pressure. It's great that it's you against the carp, not 20 or 30 other anglers. Reminds of my years spent living in Germany and fishing the rivers up there. Keep them coming 👍

Cheers Andy 👌🏻🎣 oh yes..can’t get enough of it. I’ve fished all over Europe but never Germany..would love a German river carp one day 🇩🇪 Although the German carpers are big on the carp scene now out across Europe so maybe they are not so quiet anymore. All the best mate 🎣

@@dannyminnikin9350 100% sure they do..on the very occasional time I put them in a retainer for a couple of hours you get crushed up big crayfish claws coming out 😀🎣

@@jim_lightfoot years ago there was a water keeper on a reservoir near me who had lots of X-rays in his water. He regularly harvested them smashed them up and used them as part of his boilie mix. Sold them onto those on the syndicate that wanted them. As far as I know anglers caught well on them although they had to use various methods to stop crays from destroying the hookbaits.

Cheers 😀👍🏻 Most of the canal spots I want to fish are quite narrow and will only fit a small bivvy in & yes those big bivvies will get me unwanted attention 😀🎣
