I would recommand a Michigan Trip during the summer. From Mackinac Island to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Plus you can visit your uncle and Jamie can see her Dad....

agreed, also holland, MI has the tulip time festival with carnival rides, events & a bunch of delicious food trucks & since it’s located downtown holland there are plenty of shops & restaurants!!

Life happens, and if the situation with Grandma makes you feel uncomfortable to travel all to Hawaï, then your decision is the right one. Wishing her and you all the best. Dear Aaron, I helped out my parents for yrs and I decided to move from Nova Scotia to Atlanta GA for a yr. I was gone 12 days when my father passed away. I tried to make it back home and the morning my flight was leaving my momma called to tell me he passed away in the night. I had to fly all the way back home by myself and it took me years to forgive myself for leaving. So when my momma passed in 2019 I didn't leave her side for a min. You made the right choice. Stay close, really close. Thinking of you and your family. God bless.

Loving your hair therapist more and more!! You are lucky because you look great with curls of straight hair! You’re beautiful. Sorry to hear about the trip,but family should always be first! Prayers for Aaron’s mom, it’s so hard to watch loved ones struggle. I’ll be praying for Aaron too because i know how challenging it can be to be a care provider!

Trust your intuition Crystal it has served you well so far. There comes a time when the roles almost swap with our parents and it's really nice that you are taking Aaron's precious Mum into account. I lost both of my parents in the last few years 13 months and one day apart so I understand the need to be close by. There will be a time when you can go to Hawaii. When I was 13 my family went to the US (i live in New Zealand) and we went to Hawaii which was amazing so it's worth waiting until you can all go. Xx

It's all over the internet that natives are begging travellers NOT to travel to Hawai'i right now - the islands are overrun with tourists, people are buying up already sky-high priced property on native land for holiday homes, and their resources are becoming scarce! Gentrification & colonization are ruining the islands and it's best to pick another destination for the timebeing

You all would love a cruise to the Caribbean. It's such a wonderful time for the whole family. I'm a travel agent and we have wonderful discounts on cruises with many cruise lines; including Disney.

Always go with your gut feeling. I had a bad feeling the other day and it was a good thing because a storm came and my mom supposed to go somewhere with her friends. Then a storm came through where she was going. I told her not to go. It was a good thing that she didn’t go.

My hubby has Parkinson’s and he goes to exercise 4 days a week boy has that helped him.they have to exercise, plus he takes meds. The exercises are for Parkinson people run by people who have it. It cost 75A month and you can go as many times as you wants to because there’s classes everyday of the week.

Aaron- I feel for you, but I’m so sad it’s happening to you at this point in your life. I’m in the same boat, except my mom is 91. Vacations are a challenge. We just had to cancel half a trip because she fell. I think about her 24/7 even though she is in a seniors place. Sending hugs❤️

That’s a good idea. Always trust your feelings. A woman has certain feelings we call but can’t spell the word. Sometimes they come true & sometimes not. If something happened with his mom while he was gone. Aaron would be devastated. That was a nice carnival.❤❤❤❤❤

I do the same thing. When I get a bad feeling I go with that no question asked. I went against that feeling 1 time and got in a bad car wreck . For what ever reason you are doing the right thing. My prayers are with his mom.

I totally agree, I have been in that situation myself twice and quality time with your parents is precious, just a suggestion but can you incorporate a trip with bringing both your parents along or is your mother able to travel within the US, hope your mother gets better soon Aaron

I would highly recommend taking the trip to Oregon that Bella wanted. You don't have to go to Portland, but there are great spots with waterfalls, nature, the coastline, and of course, Tillamook for the best cheese, fudge, and ice cream in the country!!!

Central/Northern CA road-trip. Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel,San Francisco, Yosemite, Sequoia National park, Bass Lake. Easy to get home and different than the LA area. Santa Fe NM, CO road-trip. CO Springs, Golden, Boulder, all places Rocky Mountains. Vail in summer is gorgeous. Georgetown, hot Springs , Estes Park. Ride the many railroad day trips.

After I got finish with coaching my grandson and his buddy. They6 wanted to stop at the gas station. $24 later, I was like maybe we should have stopped at the dollar general.😂😂

Lucas & Jake are funny. My grandkids used to argue over the front seat.😂😂This video was fun. We used a donut for our dog when she had surgery. Sadie is young & it won't take her long to heal.

When yoi do go to Hawaii I highly recommend Ohau Island, easy to walk most places and the public transport is easy and amazing for farther places. Pearl harbor is beautiful also a must see!

Check out Lake Powell and rent a house boat for a few to 5 days! I could see your family having a blast!! I could give information but way to much to type out. They normally do include a couple jet skis and a boat to use for supplies and emergencies along with fun such as tubing!. They anchor the boats by a shore so the kids can get off and play! There are even people you can hire that will make family sized meals you can put in the fridge or freezer to make life easier! Looks so fun!! Have watched many other youtubers videos on it. Lake baths seem to be a hit too😉 The water is so clear and clean!

I think you are making the right decision Hawaii will be there for the full family I was a away in Atlantic City nothing was wrong back home but my Dadd passed away unexpectedly got back home in a timely fashion still felt bad but b4 I left I know I did tell him I loved him ❤

Fun fact as you are always saying Crystal..My dad created the first ‘cone’ that dogs wear now. He worked at London Zoo (asI did) here in England. It was many years ago when I was a kid, now I’m 70 lol. He needed something for a lion or a tiger I cant remember which, to be used after dental surgery. That one was a metal one and then lighter materials took over for domestic animals

Crystal you could bring your kids to Lagoon Amusement park in Farmington Utah. We also have This is the Place and the Hogle Zoo, Antelope Island. The kids would have a lot of fun!

You guys should try Puerto Rico! It’s also and island, not a state but a US territory so you don’t need passports for everyone. And we have a lot of beaches and fun family activities ☺️ Highly recommend ✨

Problem would be grabbing a Airplane, limited flights then fly to Florida or New York then a six hour flight to Phoenix.

@@jeffschumacher2028 Aaron’s mom doesn’t live in Phoenix. They’re in Chicago! There’s a lot more flights available. But it’s just an option and it doesn’t have to be for this vacation either, it’s a good spot for most of the year, the weather it always great except maybe in September for the stormy season 😄

@@jeffschumacher2028 I’m not totally sure why you’re being so hostile. Once again, it was simply a recommendation because Puerto Rico, where I’m from, is a very beautiful island and great for vacations. Im all for them just enjoying their vacation and taking care of family because at the end of the day that’s more important than any vacation. Whether that’s Michigan or elsewhere! Additionally, if you’re doing research on that being a potential option, do it properly. Yes Puerto Rico has one major airport, it’s a big airport for the small size of the island and there are flights constantly in and out. A quick google search yielded multiple results for summer flights directly between Puerto Rico and Chicago, which makes sense since there is a large population of Puerto Ricans in Chicago. Most of these flights would be just about 5hrs, which isn’t that different compared to the 4hr drive between your suggestion of Michigan and Chicago. So again, I’m just tossing a potential option along with everyone else, I’m not trashing your option or suggestions since negativity doesn’t get people anywhere. If beaches, pools, sun, fun, etc, is what they’re were looking forward to doing, there are plenty of options, mine among hundreds. So anyway, I hope you have a beautiful day and let’s keep the community and comments positive! Instead let’s send positive vibes towards the Pettit’s and Aaron’s mom! 💖

My wife has spent almost everyday at his Mom's house. She is 88 years old. We have to go out of town every other weekend until June. So My wife's sister makes sure she in town. So yes you have to stay mobile incase you are needed.

I understand I’m with my mom now who’s in a nursing home now. She can’t go up stairs or take care of self, she has dementia which has gotten worse. Legs are very very swollen up to knees. And retaining fluids in belly can’t breath without oxygen, she can’t get up. And she’s going backwards takes 2 nurses and a belt to lift her, please prayer for Mabel my mama. She’s 84 yrs

Sorry had to postpone your Hawaii trip for later future. Hawai be still there but family is important. I recommend going somewhere have not been. I never been to Hawaii and is true it’s a long flight.

Spend some time in Michigan has so much summertime things to do. We have Frankenmuth, Crystal would the that Bonners Christmas store Zipp lines , lots of lakes camping you name Michigan has it

I had family friends come visit us and before they got here I felt something was going to happen. Sure enough my mom had a heart attack. I flew out to mom while my husband entertained and fed them.

I remember you guys on a podcast talking about whether or not to cancel/postpone your trip because of the weird feelings you were getting. I’m glad you guys follow that feeling more importantly I’m glad you figured out where it was coming from. I know Aaron’s mom is not doing well And I just hope you guys feel a little bit better about postponing. I don’t know if Arizona has any amusement parks a few hours around where you guys live. But maybe that’s some thing you guys could do for a weekend or some thing. So that way if Aaron hast to go back suddenly, he’ll be able to without worrying about missing things, because You guys have done amusement parks before :-)
