It’s estimated that up to up to 90% of cancer patients look for alternative or complimentary treatments, a decision that doubles the risk of death. But in a world of misinformation, how can patients make an informed choice? And what are the consequences of turning away from experts?
We follow two cancer patients. Grant, who has chosen evidence-based treatment not available to him from his local health service, and Surinder, who has chosen to turn her back on conventional treatment and to trust entirely in alternative medicine. Their moving personal stories are supported by testimony from doctors who explain the treatments Grant and Surinder have chosen, and the terrible risks that they are both running.
Grant and Surinder are just two examples of the difficulties and dilemmas faced by hundreds of thousands of families fighting cancer every day. When your life is on the line, how far would you go?

dr thomas seyfried has really amazing interviews about cancer on youtube. Cancer seems to be extremely rooted in insulin resistance and cancer cells eat glucose like monsters, and insulin encourages rapid growth of cells so... makes sense. Keep your carbs low people, for your metabolic health.

If I was diagnosed with the Big C, I would do either a Full Keto or a Carnivore only Diet. If the cancer was still growing, finding a Doctor who believes in Dr. Thomas Seyfried protocols and Block Glutamine with medication. WHICH WOULD STARVE THE CANCER! In My Humble Opinion

My daughter is 25 yrs old, she's fighting MBC stage 4. I am giving her alternative medicine with the chemotherapy. The chemotherapy scares me. I do not believe in the hospital system nor the doctors at all. My daughter wants to believe. I will continue to feed her alternative medicine. She has an 8 month old baby. We will continue this fight.

I have felt a series of different emotions watching this documentary. Life is so precious & fleeting. One moment we are here the next we are not. Cherish your loved ones, appreciate your health and choose joy/happiness when the option exists.

Doctors should nt call alternative medicine as quackery just because it's not been proven or I feel that it's deliberately not been proven because if the so called scientists can prove it then there is no profit to be made from allopathy medicine.

Natural Healing and Chemo combined are the best way to go. High Nutrition combined with Surgery and or Some Chemo and Radiation. People have cured themselves with just food and Supplements and Vitamins and Spices.

I had cancer on one of my breast, I was given 5 choices and choose to have double mastectomy no chemotherapy. I am in remission enjoying life. My biggest help were me praying and believing in God. My diet is according to Orthodoxy and helping people in need. Giving is receiving. All the best to people who go throw cancer experience. My God be with you. Lepa Demirovic Sydney

I am hopefully going through year 3 in remission this coming may from stage 2 triple negative breast cancer and I did 14 out of 16 rounds of 3 different types of chemotherapy and did a double mastectomy with a total of 3 breast reconstruction surgeries and let me tell you the chemo about wiped me out!! Thankfully It wasn’t in my lymph nodes at the time of getting tested when newly diagnosed and I was not positive for either of the BRACCA genes nor was I positive for any of the cancer causing genetics which is odd for someone with triple negative BC. I am still dealing with blood issues and immune issues and still having issues with low blood platelets because of the chemo side effects. If I continue to be in remission I can continue to say I’m a walking miracle. The hard chemo messes with me physically, mentally and emotionally and at 43yrs old and after just the first round of the hard chemo it threw my body into full menopause.i pray so hard for anyone having to deal with cancer and chemotherapy ❤

@7:32, this woman was looking for trouble instead than doing what would prolong her life, but each time death calls some people answer the call against all advice. I was on my treadmill, I was not watching , only listening, I said to myself, this poor woman is not going to survive. but because I did not know her name , I rewound the clip to almost the beginning to identify her. R.I.P DEAR. Free at last, free at last, thanks GOD all mighty, free at last.

She wants to die and suffer clearly. I think people should have the freedom to do so after being informed of the consequences of their decisions. Just like you must have the right to give your money to a scammer after being informed every step of the way that it's a scam and you're never getting it back.

i heard chewing on grass and drinking bean juice works wonders. but you have to moo and do a circle 3 times on all fours because somebody with cancer said they did it and it worked.
