My Father was a Korean Conflict veteran from 1951 to 1954 and was shot in his hip as Chief Pretty Officer 1st Class. He lad lung cancer and the doctor's did nothing but says he was going to be fine. Died on October 17, 2009 and all the doctor would say is you not going to sue us? Keep living day by day and never give up! The power is yours not the doctor's !

Hi Mark, Great job with your talk! You speak from your heart and you speak for so many others that are facing a similar journey. Thank you for your awareness of human senses and the fact that we often take way too much for granted…In the way of health, relationships, finances, etc. Life is so short (for everyone of us) and your advice to savor every minute is such a valuable lesson to be learned! Prayers, my Friend🙏

Oh Mark, such love for your family radiates through you. My father passed in 2015 from metastatic melanoma. The moment I found out, he never went to another appointment without me. I was his healthcare power of attorney, his cook, his confidante, his advocate, his nurse but mostly, his devoted daughter. Time is fleeting, and we cannot get it back. I dropped out of nursing school to care for my father, I knew college would always be there and enough about melanoma to know he had little time. It sounds like your daughters and family have been making the most of each day! You’re an inspiration!

Mark, I love your brutal honesty and raw emotion when you describe your plight and what life means to you. It is beautiful when you come to that realization that life is more than the busyness we often attribute to our blindness. You are blessed with a loving family to support you through you challenges and it is bitter sweet to see the gratitude you express towards their efforts to support a dad that was always there for them. I wish you healing intentions and thoughts to support a speedy recovery! God bless you and your lovely family,

Wonderful video and encouraging to see such wonderful support from family. I'm 71 years old and have spent a lifetime in the health care financing field. While access to care is vitally important, I can unequivocally say, family and relationships are more important than anything a doctor can do for you in your journey. We will all die. To do so with grace, love and faith is all we should desire.

Dear Mark, This is a touching video. Reminded me of my father when we passed away due to Stage 4 Lymphoma in 2012. He was 66 at that time. Thank you for this video to help people come out of the pursuit of worldly blessings & not appreciating the people around us. I remember watching the Lakers beat the Pacers 21 years ago for the NBA championship. It was good to reminisce that as you spoke & also emphasize that it’s important to spend time with our children as much as we can.

You are a good hearted wise men, with great daugters and a big lovely family. The act of your daughters and your family, are just a reflection of your human being. Your daughters are always guided by a big one like you are, and they will never let you down. There are always some people in your life they will cut their own to save yours. I don't believe but I respect your words and understand that cancer makes your live again, and not being blinded anymore. I hope you are in your best condition ever, and do not have any illnesses more. We can buy medicine, but not health. We can buy a house, but not a home. We can buy anything to care for our good life, but we can't buy true love. It's my pleasure to meet you. This is what I call true sense of being, trust, love, and care for your family. Mark: Thanks for permitting me a window into your life. The video from 7 July 2021 has a positivity about it - a reminder of our lives, their transience, the value of others to us - and of how - as you say - when one sense disappears the others are heightened - our awareness of those who mean so much more to us than - let's say - our working careers - as we face our mortality. You name those close to you - your mother, your wife, your sister and niece, your daughters including the one who with her partner drove right across country from NY to CA! They'll be back across country now - here we are communicating and it is now December (unless they've been recently back for Thanksgiving. A couple of times in my life I have faced the prospect that my life might soon come to a close - the first was on a plane from Australia back to Japan where I was then teaching - via Seoul - buffeted at the edges of a typhoon - the plane dropping then climbing back up...I was in my early 50s thinking that if that were the moment - I had had a fortunate life - no regrets. After which many things happened to me in the years beyond which were more than marvellous - friendships, founding a movement, dealing with a childhood which had not been the most positive, shall we say - and in latter times joining a new political movement... the second moment when I thought I might be facing my death was seven years right around now. My wife and I were visiting the US - we were in NYC - she fell/tripped on the Highline walk - cutting the skin on her leg and cracking some ribs. We were kindly looked after at a new medical centre in Bed-Stuy where we were staying - and then I became ill (as if competing for who was worst off - I joke) loss of energy of voice - night sweats - loss of appetite. We had two more weeks in NYC then a week in Hawai'i on our return to Australia. Upon arrival back - we both headed to our doctors. Mine was "a mass on my liver" - first thoughts - this is it! I was immediately ordered to hospital - it was an amoeba - possibly lurking within my body from a trip several years earlier to Phuket in Thailand. Anyway - it was dealt with. And my retirement back from all my years in Japan continued on - my walking, my reading, thinking - seeing friends/relatives - in Seattle, in western Canada, in Australia, in Germany, Austria - and via other means! To feel grateful for the beauty of our world - in central Europe - just two years ago in the Trans-Caucasus - during Covid lockdown times around our own state of New South Wales - (bigger than Texas!!)... I'm off at this moment for a cardiac Cat Scan - to check if there may be any hereditary factors present - my younger brother suffering a cardiac arrest/death in mid-August - and that's been another focussing moment - and keeping in touch with our mother - now in her early 90s. Thanks for your video - Mark. I will come back here later with a "Kageyama" story! Jim

Mark, I am so thankful for your story. Depending on the type of cancer you have, RSO(Rick Simpson Oil) might be highly effective at neutralizing it. Just a little extra something to research that you won't hear from the everyday medical community because it cures vs. prolonging misery, and Big pharma doesn't like that. 🙏🙏 for your complete healing. See ya in the gratitude room on CH!🧜♀️
