The cancer I have is called Epithelioid Angiomylipoma or PEComa. It's part of the sarcoma family of cancers.

Roller coaster of emotions from finding Melanie's beginner crochet videos several days ago, truly enjoying the specificities she goes into along with such a pleasant demeanor and then to find she's passed on and so recently. Such an odd feeling watching a stranger so full of life one moment, then coming across her health journey videos and finally the memorial ceremony. Sending love and good memories to the family. She seems like an amazing person to have been able to know and gave people globally quite the impact.

My sister thought she beat cancer, but it came back with a fury and she passed a couple years back. Cancer sucks. Prayers for her family. She bravely fought this and shared her journey.

Such sad news of your passing Melanie, in this video you were so excited. My heart is broken in a 1000 pieces. I cant even imagine what heartache your loved ones must feel. You were such an amazing teacher. You taught me how to crochet. Even though I never had the priviledge to personally meet you, I feel I did know you. Melanie you are now free from the dreadful cancer. You got your wings and flying high with all the other angels. I will keep on watching you videos. Thank you 💖

This is very sad. I watched this video last summer. I never knew she was battling her cancer... I’m very sorry for your loss. I just watched her memorial, I cried so much. I feel very bad for her husband and I couldn’t watch him properly without shedding tears but it was a beautiful memorial… Thank you for being brave, open and letting us see what you have gone through. The life is so very unfair, why a beautiful soul like Melanie had to be taken away from us so soon?? She was my sunshine in my darkest days and she’s why I can crochet well. I crocheted my first garment with her guidance and I watched her how to bind quilts and I still watch her from time to time. Thank you Melanie and I’m sorry that you had to deal with such ordeal. Hope you’re smiling in heaven as you always were. 💐🌻

Melanie, as a cancer survivor I share your feelings. The scariest part was trying to be strong and have a good attitude, for the people around me. They needed to know I would fight this and it gave them hope with their prayers, I did survive now 30 years later from a rare cancer roo. . It helps to watch you share your cancer, because so many need to see you and your positive attitude. The prayers, and concern are your healers.

What a terrible loss of such a wonderful young lady. My nephew died last year. He was diagnosed and told he had about 5 years. But he was gone in less than a year. So awful. So sorry to all her family.

I just received and email today from the studio of Melanie Ham telling of her passing 😢 I am devastated. Although I never met her, I feel as if she was a friend. Her poor family! I am grieving myself. I just can't believe it. She was an amazing teacher, beautiful inside and out. Thank you Melanie for all your hard work xo

Wonderful news. I had my cancer surgery on sept 29 this year, and was lucky enough that it had not spread outside of my uterus. I feel very blessed. I know how relieved you must have felt last week. Understanding that you are not out of the woods yet, I will keep on praying for you and your family. I know, apart from prayer, a loving family, and amazing health care, that your wonderful, positive attitude is helping you in this fight. Keep on smiling. 😘

I was just doing some research about starting my KZfaq channel "Crafting & Cancer" - I am a year into my journey with a very aggressive bladder cancer. I started watching Melanie's KZfaq videos and found the videos & blog about her cancer diagnosis. I just saw the comments she has passed. I was already tearing up watching her last video about the positive results of her scan. I am heartbroken for her husband, children, family & friends. I will continue to watch her videos & the documentary when it comes out - and as she asked, I will pray for her family & loved ones.

What a strong lady and very courageous. I hate that she wasn't able to beat this terrible illness. Her life was stolen way too early. Her life will continue to live on here and I enjoyed getting to know her through her videos.

I’m so happy to hear that you’re doing so well Melanie. I also changed my eating habits and many other things when I was diagnosed with lymphoma about 3 years ago and so far I have needed no treatment. My bloodwork is stable and I have none of the apparent signs of lymphoma at this point. I watched thr Chris Beat Cancer series and took a lot of his advice

I remember watching this when you first released this video. Watching it again now... it's just so heartbreaking. There was so much joy and hope that was encapsulated in this filming.
