I remember the Sunday night shows by Allen Funt when I was a kid. I would beg my parents every week to let me stay up so I could watch. These later ones by Peter were every bit as funny as his dad's.

This is what is called a Kafkaesque experience where you are in a courtroom and not knowing what is happening. As someone who has to deal with City Hall once in a while, I can tell you navigating through the bureaucracy is our government can be Kafkaesque. Dealing with legal matters where you don't know what you don't know gives you extreme anxiety knowing that any mistake can get you in deep trouble. The Kafkaesque experience is when you don't know who is in charge, who has the final say for your situation. Without knowing who this authority is, you cannot appeal to them to plea your case. As with this Candid Camera video, the victims keep looking at the judge for clarification but got no help. So they kept doing their best to deal with the seemingly random nonsensical questions.

I love these, There's been plenty of copycats but nothing beats the real Candid Camera!

Whenever I hear him speak , it always amazes me how much Peter sounds like his dad.

I always loved Allen Funt he had such a genuine warmth about him especially with children. He was the kind of guy you wanted to invite to your house . I remember Fannie Flagg and the whole crew and loved every episode. It really is difficult to pick a favorite they were all so good. And a couple of years ago I happened to Google Candid Camera and saw this guy that absolutely cracked me up, with his gift of driving these people NUTS!! Only to discover he is the son of Alan Funt I think Peter Funt, it's hysterical, I love that guy. I'm so glad I can still Google one of the Great shows ever, Candid Camera five stars, and two thumbs up.

I’ve only been sworn in once in a court to testify and I can tell you that there’s NO WAY you could get me up there without a major understanding of what is expected of me. It’s nerve wrecking big time.

Peter Funt is brilliant at keeping a straight face. Who put the bop was inspired. We had a UK version which was also funny, the car with no engine drives into a petrol station comes to mind.

I've been a community organizer for 25 years and I've spent what seems like half my life in court. I have to be honest, if I didn't know these were set-ups I'd have no difficulty believing this was real. Court really is this theatrical and surreal while being utterly deadpan sometimes.

The best part of these has always been when you tell people they re on candid camera, but you only show a few. It’s not like you’re limited by network TV time. This is KZfaq, you can make the videos 1-2 minutes longer. Everyone wants to laugh with the people’s reactions. Too bad. Such a great show.

I don`t know what it is about this chap`s voice ( the bloke working for `Camera ) but it was made for TV. He sounds so professional in his approach and tone that such a show as this was made for him - or he was made for the show.

I was a jury member in Santa Cruz Ca and it was 100x more funny than this. Lady was involved In a fender bender Sued for $300,000. Said she couldn’t walk or stand without severe pain. Defense showed her street dancing !!!!

Laughed my butt nearly off...the only other show that comes anywhere close to CC was Off Their Rockers with Betty White. It was a hysterical show with senior citizens pulling pranks on people.

1:13 The dinner question could be valid as it's a mean to establish that you're not senile or the other way around if those piles up. It goes along with "Why are you here ?", "Which day are we ?", "Where are you ?", "Can you give your name ?", "What was my last question ?" ... Those establish that your long term, short term, situation awareness is there. During an interview, we had a guy who was so weird I had to ask him alikes. Including "What's the name of the company ?" (Written in big on all the glass walls). The CEO was sitting next to me and looked at me in an "Did you really just asked that to the candidate ?". Then I explained the reason, that wasn't for "laugh", I needed to establish that the candidate was "here". He also got to explain to what job he was applying. The take away is that if you are in an interview and those questions crop up, you won't have the job! You may even learn you've dementia ^^ Recruiters can't tell that to you, but there is always a way to hint that one should consult. "Oh, you seems a bit impeded, do you want to come back later when you've that sorted out ?". I had the case in IQ testing where I sent back a candidate right after she told me she traveled from USA was jet lagged and tired. I refused to test her as she would have just threw money away and scored low for obvious reasons. (I was doing group tests, so it wasn't a big loss, but on her side it would have been more damaging and not only financially. So, easy decision to take.)

Candid Camera used to be huge, I remember watching it all the time thinking "how can they not know it's Peter Funt?!" Same thing now with the Impractical Jokers. Only IJ is no where as big as CC was. I remember back in the day me and my boys would get together and puff puff pass and watch this show and have a grand old time laughing and having fun talking about how fun it is to watch candid camera and laugh and how the people are probably pretending to not know they're on the show, cause how could you not know Peter Funt? Brings me back to the days of watching this on TV.
