"Candid Talk: The REAL Costs of Buying and Renovating a House in Madeira."
We have been asked the same questions over and over so we decided to take a trip to Fanal Forest and talk candidly above the clouds about our experience in Madeira to date. We tell you how much our house cost to buy; how much to expect to pay per square metre to renovate a house; why we bought a house with no land and the latest on our Golden Visa application. But ultimately why we can't tell you exactly how much money you need to buy a property here!
We talk openly about another much asked question “Would we do it again”.
But this is to follow in the next video… today’s video is already 16 minutes long and we know many of you will not watch for this length of time so stay tuned and you may be surprised by what we have to say!

Hi guys! This is a very interesting video. I agree with you, you should be proud of the price you paid and how lucky you were to find exactly what you were looking for, at the budget you set and that it turned out as beautiful as it is. My husband and I also purchased a property two years ago, and it will be finished in a couple of months. We are glad we purchased it back then, because on today's market, we couldn't buy the same property and would be more difficult to consider to move to Madeira in the first place. I hope you enjoy your home for many years to come and the hard work you put to make it that beautiful :) Blessings!

Loved this series. Your place is stunning. Been to madeira 7 times, and I cant get enough of it. Love the North side too, so Jurassic. Wish you both the best on the island

Thank you for your great and informative video. For us, the location has always been the decisive criterion. Finding a property in the first row on Madeira has become extremely difficult these days and requires a lot of luck. your house is just a dream! We are in Madeira from October 14th to November 2nd and hope to find a suitable property there! Kind regards Kathi and Christian

Unfortunately you need to give your followers what they want or they will unsubscribe. You would've done yourselves an injustice by not sharing what it cost you if that's what they wanted to know. Not sure why the intial hesitation but thanks for sharing in the end....your home is stunning! 2 Million Rands....I can afford that😃😀

Really great video, my guess was 220 for the house and 210 for renovation but easy to get over it , overall a great investment and a beautiful house, time to sell and move to the next project ;) ..... ps D4 would be easy

No, foreigners will drive up the prices and locals will struggle and resent the new comers.... Happened in Bali, Thailand....

Glad you don't want to sell it , because if you do sell it and don't invest the money in the island , the government would take from you 35% of the profit you make on the house . Yes it's suc... but is the reality
