Did you know you can generate electricity with a candle? We are using this method to power a fan. It works great and the energy is FREE! Get a free Hulu Plus trial at: huluplus.com/household
You can get a Peltier cooler here for pretty cheap: amzn.to/Jtl6D9
Side note: KipKay used this method to charge a cell phone, check it out here: • Charge Your Cell Phone...
What kinds of devices would you power with this? Let us know in the comments!

one of those devices should be in every CPU/GPU cooler, it would even have it's own power management (seeing as the hotter it gets the faster the fan spins)

I wonder if these would be better to cover a home roof with than solar panels. Seems like endless possibilities with this little device. You could even cover the bottom of a hybrid cars hood so while driving at speeds above battery operating speed the heat generated from the gas motor could recharge the battery.

Ik the power would only be accessible to people close by and wouldn't be a lot but just put a load down on a desert or on solar panels for extra power. You could also attach a few to reactors/ other hot places in power plants for a slight amount more power. Nice vid :)

I have a fan on my woodstove that works on the same principle- I get 80cfm from it, and it heats the adjacent bathroom. It must have cool air behind it, and it sets directly on the hot surface of the stovetop. It is not a DIY but a manufactured device and it has been running every winter going on 6 years now- the only maintenance is dusting it every so often.

Peltier chips do not produce electricity from heat alone. They create electrical charge from temperature differences between the sides. When the cooler side warms up you will find your voltage output will drop.

Physics docent work like that sadly. energy will be lost with each exchange. For instance the copper wires absorb some of the energy sent threw them and turn it into EM fields and heat. After enough circuits threw the device all energy would be lost threw this mechanism, amongst others. After time Scientifically and mathematically looping energy like that is impossible.

Trevor Roberts Which is currently technologically improbable and possibly physically impossible due to the Conservation of Energy. The Net amount of energy within a closed system must remain the same. THis is a basic law of physics which while it could be wrong or have an exception, we are not yet aware of such a thing.

this would be alright if I hadn't have seen someone else do an identical device months ago. with this arrangement the fan will actually by blowing warm air (take it from someone who's been in the heat transfer industry). and its better to use a TEG peltier, not a run of the mill kind (which are usually the ones made for heating and cooling when power is PUT IN.
