2024. We must keep the legends alive. The new generation must know
@Lowden7775 күн бұрын
The new generation of guitarists are very high skilled in technique but lack musicality in my opinion...Andy McKee creates music from the soul. He and many other guitarists (before social media era) would create very inspiring pieces of music. Nowadays many that become famous aren't really giving quality music in term of feeling and soul, they are very good on technique and posing...but they lack that spark of life

It’s taken me 13 years to learn the “easy” first half of this song on guitar. Today was the first time I played it along with the video, and it doesn’t sound terrible!

I also did an attempt of covering the song (it's on my channel) but I did it in standard tuning though.
@hitmanhatton3 жыл бұрын
If you can play the first part half decently then you're not really that far off from being able to play the next section. Yes there are some awkward positionings but it really just takes getting used to. And if you learn how to play that part. Then you won't be far off from playing the outdoors either . There is a great Japanese tutorial for this song. The language doesn't matter because you can see the guitar and follow along with a tabkzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZquTgrVn0bWxeX0.html

Had the lucky privilege of seeing him live at the Iowa State Univ. M-shop in what I think was 2008 since Gates of Gnomeria had just come out. Maybe 75 people there, and I spent the whole show with my mouth gaping open. I specifically remember him playing Rylynn and Africa, which just blew me away. His melodies evoke such specific emotions that I don’t think any other artist I’ve heard comes even close to.

I keep coming back to this video every so often. Been doing that for over 10 years. So much has changed in all that time. It's nice that this sweet melody hasn't.

I've listened to this song countless times since it's upload and to this day,I (personally) think this could well be the best sounding,finger style composition and performance out there (arguably,obviously).The entire song,note for note,string for string,is just fantastic and angelic.I doubt Mr.Mckee is reading this but,I would just like to say thank you for gracing us with this piece.

***** Thanks for making all these amazing songs! Whenever someone asks me who my favorite guitarist I always say "Andy McKee" haha. You've inspired me to make my own youtube channel too :) I was playing Drifting one day and one of my friends found it so cool and I couldn't help but laugh as I played!

For 10 years the beginning of this song has been embedded in my mind. I hear it when I think of peaceful moments. It seems to accompany the very thought of peace of mind. I feel incredibly blessed to have this as the anthem of pure euphoric bliss deep within my soul.

I don't know what to say but, this song.. I can feel the pain from his guitar, and sadness, and he can manage it and turn it all into a really beautiful song that can through exactly into my heart and my feeling. Thank you so much for making this magical song. I've heard this song years ago and never end
