I’m happy that they’re making more of an effort to educate people of the differences. Even owners of the non traditional corsos refuse to admit that there is such a thing of TRADITIONAL Cane Corso.

Hh traditionnal Corsos will never be in us in fact thé sottile Corso are a mix of neo female and rednose pitbull males later mixed with Rottweiler so a full mute not even a Corso euro Corso everyday.

I live in Campania, in southern Italy, i have a cane corso from an old bloodline, mine Is more similiar to a huge mastiff with a big temperament

I bred these dogs over 20 yrs ago and most were nothing like the dogs here. They were big heavy boned dogs with strong characters.

I have some they also have a scissor bite (UNCOMMON IN TYPES SHOWN) and a different coat and more often than not a higher prey drive. A proper one is as good as any dog in the world and better than most.

Excellent by explaining the difference of the breeds people don't realize this. Because if you don't know the difference it can make problems in what your looking for with behavior and give the dogs a bad reputation.

It makes me disgruntled also. My mother bought a female after I got a male corso and she pronounces it as cane like the syrup. Seems like more people i meet tend to use the "cane" and not "can nay"

Yeah sure. The people in Italy had a really hard time to find the purest Cane Corsos for the recuperation but hey, here comes these americans with top breeding experience and knowledge, who after all found the real ones and start breeding and now there are two types of cane Corso. LMAO 😂😂😂😂

From what I know the traditional corso is from Italy, when it was imported to USA market it was crossed with boxers to lower the natural aggression and guarding instincts. Hence why the commen corso have shorter snout, and the traditional ones don't.

They started that activity in Italy, especially when France invaded, it didn't start when the dogs came to the u.s. This is why research is important. This is why Paolo Berber walked out on those dudes that were working with him on the recovery of the breed because they were only interested in following the trends to make money, making the corso a show dog, thereby introducing other breeds into the gene pool such as the pug and boxer, even their template Basir was a bixer type.

It's not a walking stick or a peppermint candy stick, it's a dog, not a cāne. Càne, pronounced (kah'•neh) or (khan'•neh), or you can even pronounce it the lazy way, "Connie", means dog, in Italian. "Cagna", (rhymes with lasagna) is the strictly feminine form, a female dog. Cáne [ I am only using the diacritical mark above the A to emphasize that it is unemphasized; soft; it is not a part of the spelling of the word normally, because most people actually know how to pronounce it correctly ], is most certainly the form used when speaking of all dogs male and female. Corso, from the Latin "cohors", refers to the guardian roll it plays in farmyards, courtyards, or properties; with a person or a flock or herd, wherever it is, it guards.

There aren't two versions, there's a wannabe and a real thing. You can't call two differing dogs one breed. The real cane corso has a proper snout and a proper bite along with other attributes that make it a healthy dog. The mongrel on the other side has sealed nostrils, a bashed in snout which essentially makes it a giant pug. You can't call both dogs a cane corso, only one of them is.

Spot on chief, keep cooking, someone argued with me that there is the euro type( trad corsos) and the non trad type( American line) I was pissed because what does that even mean? These dogs originated from Europe Italy to be precise so what do you mean there's an American version.

Neither of these corsos in the video is traditional. The photos depict them, yes, but the representation in the video is lacking . They are all hyper type corsos

Italian is pronounced like how it's spelled, so "Cane corso = Kane korso".

I have a nontraditional corso.. I wanted a calmer personality. Same as when I got my Doberman.. I got a North American one instead of a European one, they're calmer. Try to break into my house though.. dare you.

😂 Brilliant comment. And yeah, the big teddy bears can be so ever gentle … until you threaten their owner. Then they become a tiny version of Cerberus 😅 (growing up we had the “lazy” German Shepard, but if guests just entered the yard with us in the backyard, our dog rose hell at the front door 🥰😄)
