A lot of people say they're confident against Canelo until they get hit by him. Bud has never been hit by someone like Canelo. Canelo isn't going to fight Benavidez because there's just not enough money for him to step into the ring against a weight bully like Benavidez. He's a monster for 168lbs and Canelo sees that and figures why take a dangerous fight like that for what he can fight anybody else for the same money. Canelo is small for 168lbs. He's smaller than every guy he fights in that division. He could easily fight at 160lbs and you'd see him putting down more guys than he is at 168lbs.

Man… that Porter I tell ya… I like the guy and respect him as a fighter but the salt man. It’s just sad. Really, if Canelo was “Blacknelo”, he’d a been all over them nuts man. Crawford kept it G, Canelo did carry the kid and out of respect held back a bit. Giving a big L to Oscar was more important than humiliating Munguía. Canelo just took him on a ride and schooled him a bit. I believe this will help Munguía become a monster just like Canelo did after his ride along with Floyd.

it ain’t the same, it’s like comparing a 30year old Mike Tyson and a 30year old Bernard Hopkins. One was out of his prime and one still had a long career to start. That’s why we say Floyd ducked manny’s prime even though floyd’s a bit older than him. Some styles make longevity and everybody peaks differently especially for canelo who’s been a pro since teenage years and fought undefeated and top champions moving around the weight classes up and down

I watched Canelo vs the Smith Brothers, Billy Joe Saunder, Caleb Plant, and John Ryder and for me Jaime Mungia gave Canelo his closest fight. I would like to see Jaime fight any of those fighters including a rematch vs Canelo at some point in the future

I believe that he basically took it easy on him canelo clearly hurt him several times could have knocked down in at least two more times so you can see where people would get the idea he carried to show his dominance in a way he didn't have to push his dominance aggressively because that was his fellow countrymen they shared a stable together and he clearly wanted him to learn to take the lesson or take the loss

They protected him just enough to get him into a millionaire fight and get a large return on their investment. He didn’t want to seriously hurt the kid who is his compatriot and a very respectful young man. In addition by allowing the fight to go the distance he gave Mungia a boxing lesson that will prove to be valuable to Mungia in ring experience for years to come.
