I’m a huge canelo fan, and this fight after a long break is a good one. The bivol fight should be set for next year and fight Benavides 1st. Bivol is extremely dangerous and only getting better. Canelo need to shake all of the rust off and get to 100% again, I have no doubt that he can beat bivol from what I’ve seen in the last 5 years of canelo fighting.

Your not a fan. I fan takes the good and the ugly makes real predictions and is critical when the time requires it. Your a cheerleader . Ducknelo is a drug cheat looser who lost to ggg , lara , mayweather and now bivol. He's also vacated belts in order to avoid the best fighters. Duckenlo will never beat benavidez or bivol. And thats a promise

Very well said. Ryder is not a bad boxer, and Canelo will have the chance to test his wrist. Tbh, I can’t wait to see him fight Bivol with a full capacity. I am sure we’ll witness a completely different fight.

@@MegaLionita Ryder is tough but very limited, doesn't have a lot of punching power or volume. I think he'll try to go the body since round 1. He knows Canelo's cardio is not good, being said that I got canelo by 4 round KO :3

@@juanmarinmarin4861 Really? That soon. I’m thinking about Canelo stopping him in the second half of the fight with a body shot. I don’t think his lacking on cardio, apart from the Bivol bout. The few extra pounds & him trying to land only power shots got him gassed out.

@@MegaLionita It would be better if Ryder can survive for longer but the thing is Canelo will just bait him to get him inside and counter him with a big shot, Ryder is strong so I believe Canelo will catch him upstairs when Ryder tries a flurry. Reality is that he has the perfect style for getting slept early in this fight

I have a theory. I think Canelo chose to fight in Mexico to humble himself since the bivol loss. The reason being to realize what he's come from and especially being from the state of Jalisco and reaffirming his desire to be elite in the sport. Additionally, I believe if and when he beats Ryder, he will likely fight benavidez because Ryder has a high work rate, just as Benavidez has a very similiar marauder style. If and when Canelo fight benavidez and were to be victorious I would think it would be highly likely that he fight bivol almost immediately after, due to the simple fact that bivol and benavdiez are similar in work rate and fighting "long". Let me know what yall think.

I like the style similarity to Ryder, but Benavidez is terrible technically, I'd say Ryder is more technically sound. Benavidez's victory over plant had more to do with Plant gassing than anything Benavidez's did. In the first half he was getting hit with everything and hitting air. Still think Bivol fight goes on first, at least I hope.

Bivol is realistically the next level challenge. Benavidez is more the back up fight and more winnable opponent. I also agree with aphorim that Ryder is the one with higher workrate and relentless pressure and will force Canelo to work. Benavidez's workrate dropped when he stepped up against Plant and spent most of the fight throwing single wide shots.

@@Aphorim Benavidez usually gives the first rounds when he knows he's with a decent fighter, what he lacked a bit against Plant was his jab but everything else was on point. Speed-power-volume-punch placement and nobody gives him credit for his defense either, it's very unorthodox the way he evades and blocks punches really but still effective. Benavidez is more of a smart streetfighter with a good engine XD

1st, I think Canelo put on too much weight. 2nd, I think he should fight Benavidez next because idk if anyone noticed, but Canelo looked much slower and exhausted against Plant than he did against Callum Smith. He needs rest (Sept-May) to bring his best performance against Bivol.

Canelo vs Plant did so much more chasing compared to when he fought Callum, so that will tire people out more. Benavidez doesn't move as much as Plant

Canelo healthy will definitely be a different fight, Bivol’s shots were going through Canelos guard too easily, probably hurt him more to block than to just let the shot come in and try to roll with it, Canelo should just fight Benavides and derail that hype train, let Bivol make the fight vs Beterbiev, determine who the best at 175 really is and have Canelo undisputed at 168 face the undisputed champ at 175.

Good warm-up fight before Canelo vs Benavides. And that one won't be one-sided as people think it would be. Cause David showed himself to be a work-rate machine. How would Canelo deal with that? We'll see. As for this fight. Canelo by KO after rd5

He actually showed too much respect for Plant first half of the fight and his work rate wasn't great up until the later rounds

The real question is how would Benavidez handle Canelo not the other way around. Benavidez doesn't bring anything he hasn't experienced before unlike Canelo who's more skilled and a bigger puncher than anyone he's faced. Benavidez's workrate dropped in his first career step up against Plant and had to think twice about letting his hands go because of Plant's counters and Plant is obviously not a skilled counter power puncher like Canelo. Benavidez spent much of loading up with single wide shots that Canelo is a master at countering. Also, Benavidez's chin hasn't been fully tested. He was knocked on his backheels a few times by Plant and just by his demeanor he looks like he gets a bit touched up when he gets tagged flush even though he tries to play it off.

@@Alex-trl I don’t think it was respecting for Plant. I think the bright lights and the big stage just got to him a little bit. Interested how he’ll do against Canelo. Especially since Canelo is also a slow starter.

Yea he choose the good place to fight in with ryder, and to e I think if canelo beats john ryder then he will not only be the super middle weight champion if he beats him, he will maybe come up with a plan to beat bivol in the rematch if it happens, I think canelo will win this match 100% and I know he can

Canelos team always pick the "controlled risks", he should learn 1 or 2 things from Ryan, I know what will happen, ryder is going to lose, and then bovol will crush canelo again, if that fight happen because I dont think canelo would take that risk.

Canelo chooses the fighters, he knows he will beat them, everything is arranged, I don't know why they paid him so much money if he's not that good, let him fight Benavides, El Zurdo Ramirez or Bivol, there the thing would be even. ..but he doesn't want to lose, because he has to recover the money they paid him with false fights...
