Bivol is not a cherry pick and a real Champion that a lot of people questioned. He proved it against Canelo. You can’t down play canelo because he moved up in weight as a challenger to challenge a champion daring to be great. What 90% of fighter are scared to do is challenge themselves. That or there promotores hold them back. It’s funny people say Canelo is criticized by ignorant fans that do not know boxing. If he loses he’s been dethroned. He is still undisputed at 168 and he moved up as a challenger to a champion. On the other hand if Bivol would have lost he would of lost more the Belt. Fighters that criticize Canelo should look at themselves on what they have done and recognize that none have swept the devision when they have had the chance. So think before speaking and respect him for trying. Respect Bivol for winning as well and recognize he is a real champion.

Great interview Fernando is blessed to have 3 warriors who act like gentlemen he raised them right. I respectfully disagree Salvador Sanchez is by far Mexico's greatest. He counterpunched better Marquez, had a better jaw and stamina than Chavez, box better than Barrera, and more power than Morales with a ring IQ of Finito Lopez. He was the complete package. Canelo is bigger he did do things the past legends haven't, but he didn't beat any great fighters convincingly. His greatest win is the 2nd GGG fight and it could of gone either way. I prefer quality over quantity and Canelo DOES NOT have the quality wins Sanchez, Chavez, Morales, Barrera, or Baby Arizmendi had.

I think Sanchez passed away too young in order to declare him the greatest Mexico has produced. I just cannot go there but I can see what a lot of people think this way. With Salvador leaving this world so young, we don't know how he was going to do as he moved up in weight class. I have to go with JCC. If Canelo had become undisputed at light heavyweight with that of changed your mind at all about his legacy? Remember also the Canelo is not finished. I think he wanted to get light heavyweight undisputed and then come back down the 168 and fight the people that everyone says he was avoiding. He looked very different in that fight against the Russian. He didn't look ripped and he literally looked like he had a little fat around the waist. Now to me that is not out of shape at all. I think he was not in his best shape. I think he started becoming a little complacent because his power had been doing so well since he went to 168 and even before. He did not look like he trained for 12 rounds. He looked very fatigued. He didn't look like he's power went with him but just maybe to meet you can take power shots. but when I see and hear people say that Canelo is washed up and passed his prime, I don't think this is going to be the case. So now he's at 168, what happens if he beats the middleweights to come up and try to dethrone him? If he beat 3G at this point, I'm not really sure what that would say for Canelo. If you seen 3G fights lately then you understand what I'm talking about because he's just had way too many wars and amateurs and pros and he's deteriorating. I think Canelo would probably beat 3G on points at this point of 3G career. Tbh, the virus robbed us of the trilogy. So I don't think you believe that Canelo is past his prime do you? I don't know if it was the vegan diet with a combination of just not training is hard but he didn't look good at all against Dimitri. I cannot say it's the size because kovalov was bigger than Dimitri right? Remember I think that we're talking about a 5'8 man with a big frame in Canelo. He could have stayed down at the lower divisions. I asked why didn't any of those little weights move up to become first undisputed super middleweight during four belt era? IDK why not. It's Canelo had become undisputed at light heavy and then came down and defended his title a couple times at 168, I would probably say he's way up there with JCC. I can't give it to Salvador because he just didn't have the opportunity to show the world how he would be as the years went by. Everybody has opinions and I will see that I think Salvador had unbelievable natural talent and he probably would have impressed everyone as he went through the years just as much. Salvador Sanchez has become kind of like a legend more than a live fighter could be imo. It's like people saying the biggie is the greatest rapper. To me it's the same argument because I don't know what biggie is going to do if he lives to be 45 or 55 or whatever. James Dean died in a car crash at 24 I believe. He only had three movies but people count him as one of the greatest actors in history. It's hard to beat a legacy and a legend that is stuck in our head and they're no longer around. They just stay young forever. Sorry this is so long but you won't mind because yours was long too hahaha. I go with JCC I say that Salvador had everything it took to not only be one of the best Mexican Fighters but the best boxer at all or up there. I know Roberto Duran is not Mexican but he is half Mexican. David benavidez is not Mexican but a half on his father's side. His mother was and I guess is Ecuadorian. So does Canelo fight David benavidez since he says I'm not going to fight mexicans? I think Canelo meant he wasn't going to fight native Mexican fellow countryman. That's what I believe he meant when he said that. David isn't even Mexican but has Mexican heritage and Ecuadorian heritage and was born in Arizona. I just tossed Roberto Duran in there because some people don't know that one side of him is of Mexican heritage. We can't put him in the category because he was not Mexican citizen but also both parents weren't Mexican and then we get into some crazy territory on who's more Indio and who's more conquistador DNA in Mexico. And believe it or not this happens a lot in Latin America. For people that live in the USA they might think that the country has huge amounts of racism and that Latin American countries don't have it but that's not so at all. It's not to this degree maybe but they definitely have it. What if I ask you who is the greatest Latin American fighter ever produced? Again, I don't mean Latino or born in USA with heritage from Latin America

BIVOL outlanded CANELO 152 - 84 in TOTAL PUNCHES, 46 - 10 JABS, and 106 - 74 in POWER PUNCHES, often ROCKING Canelo's head backward and forcing him to RETREAT for RESPITES by the ROPES due to the PUNISHMENT.

Its surprising how many great Boxers and trainers forget certain, important, things, when making predictions and critique. Bivol wasn't too big. He was similar size to Plant. The Problem is either things are going wrong with Alvarez, like a neurological issue, in which case he needs to Retire and address the problem(s), or the problem is stylistic, in which case, it's a matter of addressing the problem there. Because I don't know what Alvarezs health is, I'm going to touch on the stylistic aspect. Every style has structure, and every structure has strengths and weaknesses. Bivol was able to use his style to exploit the weaknesses in Alvarezs style. What Alvarez needs to do is move up another weight class, or two, by putting on the weight in the right places, in the right way, and work on his style from that point. Alvarezs style is strong within the pocket, and it's weaknesses are the opponent being mobile, working angles, and effective use of the jab. Alvarez has the skills to deal with an opponent being mobile and working distance, like Bivol did, yet Alvarez lacks the refinement to use those skills to the level needed to deal with opponents like Bivol and Mayweather. Pacquiao is great with mobility, angles, and swarming. That's a nightmare for Alvarez, and also where he should look to improve his style. Mayweather is great with distance, mobility, and precision. Alvarez should consider those two to improve his offense, and carefully consider the compromises. Outside of health issues, Bivol was so effective against Alvarez on a stylistic level. It's the only area Bivol has an advantage over Alvarez. Bivol lacks the experience that Alvarez has. Bivol hits on a similar level. Bivol lacks the defensive Alvarez has. If Alvarez wants to beat guys like Bivol, and Mayweather, the only two to beat him, he needs to work on his style.

I’m sure Canelo done seen the footage of him getting humbled literally. And I think that if Canelo would have watched a little more footage of that young man, that Russian boy, I don’t think he would’ve dared to get in the ring with him and try to take him out. Both of their physical statures were very apparent. That Russian boy look like chiseled granite. Canelo is in shape but he definitely did not look like that Russian boy.
