Also, usually in Ubud there is a huge western community! I think so many people had to leave because of everything thats going on and visa issues. Hopefully things start to open back up more again soon so that the locals can start making more money

I have been to Ubud many times but yesterday I was thinking whether I should visit Canggu when I come back to the island. After watching this video, I'm still intrigued about the other places in Bali - such as Gilli T, Uluwatu, Canggu and Seminyak but Ubud definitely seems to align perfectly with my home frequency. Such a peaceful, spiritual place with lots of yoga studios, heathy vegan spots and rice fields - so much beautiful trees and greenery everywhere!

Ubud is such a magical place, the only downside for me was that the ocean is a little bit out of the way. It breaks my heart to see it so quiet there, so many of my local friends are really struggling. Thank you for making these videos, it makes me feel like I'm back home! 😍

Great video, just a few things I would add because Ubud has changed a lot since th pandemic. I lived in Ubud for 8 months just before the pandemic and I can tell you it was super-busy, loads of Westerners and Chinese everywhere, big ex-pat community too, so it's not actually any different to Canggu usually, it's just most of those expats have gone to Canggu now. It's pretty easy to meet people in Ubud, there were Western style places, though it's not as Westernised as Canggu, which is a good thing. It is noisy from the traffic but it's worse in Canguu and there's no blaring Western music anywhere, which is a huge bonus! Canggu is for surfers, partygoers and beach lovers. Ubud is for yogis, couples, and people who prefer a more spiritual, authentic, nature experience. You won't be partying in Ubud, everything closes at 11 but there are still some nice ecstatic dance and other music events every week. This was all pre-Corona, not at the moment though. I'm sure that will change soon, fingers crossed!

Go to Gili and try diving, I think it just might be the best place in the world to get your first taste of it, for that price and the availability. Lots of turtles and a good deal of cuttlefish, octopus and peacock mantis shrimp, the good stuff. For diving Bali actual Amed is your best bet. Also sunset beach on Gili Trawangan you have the Bali silouette framing it nicely.

Lol literally ditto to what Burke Bell & Moe M said. I have been wanting to travel everywhere for a long time and am now freelance copywriting so that I can soon leave my 9-5. For future videos, could you please speak to: 1)Travel Insurance & Travel Medical Insurance.. how does it work, do you need it, etc.? 2) When you’re in any given place, what are the rent terms and how do you set something up before you arrive? 3) When traveling, do you have everything planned out as far as “I’ll be here for this long and I’ll go there for this long” or is it more on the fly and how easy/hard is it to change or book plans last minute? Thank you!!

Personally, when I left England over 3 years ago I started off with 2 years travel insurance and I didn't have to use it once, so when the 2 years up and I recived the email about extending it I didn'tbother with it. And I haven't had a need for it since. But anything can happen so it is a good thing to have just incase.

I agree with Robert Powell. My husband is Canadian he gives advice if you still need insurance just get from your country and can use for international. But if you want to come to Indonesia all medical treatments are cheap even specialist...even for major things are not really expensive if you compare with US UK Aus Singapore....so I guess you don’t need it insurance here. For planning that’s depend where do you want to go...if you want to plan before you come it’s fine but if you always watch Luke vlog he said lots group in every area...like my husband he has wa group for expat also for Canadian in Lombok, in Malang (our home) also in Jakarta....can you imagine in Bali more info for that....my advice is get lots info for group expat wherever you want to go....ok good luck for your travels

Am so confused how ppl live bcos i just dont enjoy hving to apply the sunscreen , let alone hvin to do it everyday in the case of leaving the accomodation during the day. I too find places w ac is not so common even in canggu. Gotta rlly research before going anywhere bcos plenty of places are still with no ac, even for the western style cafes.

Two tips. 1: Watch your entire video before you upload it (or have someone watch it) so you don't have weirdly cut and repeated segments in your video. 2: Get to the subject of the video faster. In this video, the first 6 minutes could have been cut to 1 minute. I agree that it's fun to show some random encounters/things but 6 minutes is way too long to keep viewers' attention. Other then that keep up the good work. Love your videos and you vibe is great!
