Of fuckin course he is, but he got set up back in the day n got caught up in some beef w LL Cool J n his whole career was burned out. So he dont get worldwide recognition like that. If you listen to their diss tracks Canibus buried Cool J but cuz he wasnt as well known everybody heard n sided w Cool Js shit. The industry is one sided. Bis shouldve had way more recognition.

He truly didn’t but the industry backed L.L. So it backfired on Canibus badly and he got black balled. Sucks because he called him on his pussy shit. I don’t hate L.L. But Canibus was the one who got wronged and thats when i took his side he was the underdog. Up until i learned about the beef i thought he was just some raspy rapper everyone said was one of the best and i just didn’t see it. Now he’s becoming my favorite lol.

canibus was one of the best traditional hip hop battle rap lyricist to ever grace hip hop at one time, when he came on the scene he was a MONSTER, rapping with kurupt, daz, ll cool j, wu tang, etc. literally within months of his appearance on the scene, but some say he let go so early with such incredible talent that he could never live up to his rep ever again

They took shots but they never beefed directly or had diss tracks on one another. If Canibus just took Ems word for it that he didn’t write L.L’s diss they probably would have been on a track together. Most likely on Ems album with bis featured.

Who caught the subliminal bars to Eminem. 3:19-4:10 is directed at Eminem. The last bar "sentenced to life on on rykers Island for terrible freestyling" is referencing the Eminem and Proof freestyle on the same radio show (Tim Westwood) a few months prior where they dissed Canibus.
