I just have to compliment you again. You are highly intelligent, highly organized, spiritual, loving, an awesome teacher, and a great multitasker. What or who was your inspiration to take on all these challenges? The garden, the canning, freezing drying, the animals, and on and on, especially with the dietary restrictions for some in your family. In the future, when you have more time, you should write a book so others could learn from your excellent techniques and skills. Your kids are so well rounded, loving, and will make excellent parents themselves, Teaching the boys to cook is genius! My son (who is now an adult and fine, wonderful husband and father) cooks too and loves to experiment in the kitchen, grilling, gardening, chickens, hunting and harvesting his own meat. He and his wife are perfectly matched, as they work and mesh their lives together, raising 4, very close in age young children. Your relationship with your husband is very compatible and your love obviously continues to grow. I had to have a hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer, and the one thing I enjoy and most gratefull for is seeing your nesting abilities with your babies. I have SO many dreams about being pregnant again and I know I should not be envious, but I sometimes cry because I am SO happy for you as I know you are living one of the best lives of any homesteader on KZfaq. You do all this for your family, not for financial gain, that is very obvious. Please think about writing a book some day as it would be very useful to teach young mothers (and fathers) based on your instincts and amazing capacity to manage a large, loving family. The Lord has blessed you and I admire you and your family so much. Thanks for sharing your lives through videos with others. 🙏✝

Girl, that last scene got me! I homeschooled 9 for 32 years. One of my favorite things was having my little ones sleeping all around me, especially in fall and winter when they’ve spent mornings outside in the cool southern air. Raking leaves, bon fires, and hot cocoa. Such wonderful memories.❤

Our easy cheat way lol is to blend the beans up instead of mashing them. Add oil to the pan, let it get hot and add some onion and let it fry until black. Yes black! So much flavor. Then add the beans. You might need to add in some stock of some sort being there is not much liquid in the jars. But yeah omg the best beans. I learned from my sister in law. Been making them that way for over 15 years now! If you try it let me know how you like it!!! ❤

We’ve had our freeze dryer for almost 2 years. If you powder your freeze dried eggs and mix them measuring one part eggs to one part water, you won’t be able to tell the difference from fresh eggs. Measuring truly changes the texture. Just thought I’d share.

Microbiologist here who used to work making kombucha in the industry... Kombucha yeasts and bacteria and vinegar yeasts and bacteria are the same kinds! Kombucha is just a shorter ferment, so not as much vinegar and slightly more sugar and alcohol. The yeasts and bacteria in it aren't probiotic, but do have some great properties to help your body! Hope you have a wonderful last few weeks of pregnancy and that your labor and delivery go smoothly and quickly!

Me too, I would love a time machine. What’s crazy is at the time, having a child asleep on me sometimes felt inconvenient due to the million and a half things I had to get done. Not a single one of those things held a candle to the importance and blessing of having my child sleeping peacefully on me, it’s a shame I didn’t fully understand that then. Chores will always wait but time will not, in a blink of the eye the kids are adults.

My Mother used to say “sometimes it’s too bad that youth is wasted on the young” I surely feel that way many many times, when I look back in my life. If there were so overs allowed, many things I would “do-over.” Homeschooling more, gardening, teaching myself to pressure can WAY earlier in life, more family focused instead of work focused… my the list goes on-I’m forever grateful that I get to see what I would have liked to do in my life; through you and your family’s life. Thank you so very much. God Bless.

I know it’s challenging to do on video but if you put your trays straight into the freezer (or the freeze dryer) and pour the liquid in while it sits there (slightly pull it out), it will greatly eliminate the chances of spillage on the way to the freezer or freeze dryer. May not completely eliminate the chances of spilling, but the transport is the hardest part - so eliminate the difficulty by keeping it in a spill proof container until you pour it in the tray in the freezer or freeze dryer.

I canned grape juice this fall using your recipe- I'll admit I was sceptical but it is the best, easiest recipe I have ever used! So easy and so good! Thanks from Montana 😊
