Used a fish finder. They show up very well on fish finders because they have a large swim bladder. I found them in 25-30ft of water.

The canoe was an old town next solo. I only prefer the kayak for albies and tog fishing. Everything else the canoe I feel is better. The canoe I can get more torque with paddles to get out of harms way I am definitely faster in the canoe believe it or not. People in hobies and pdl yaks can't keep up lol

Can you launch in surf with canoe? With a kayak, they have scuppers for water. Do you have problems with water in canoe? I looked at the canoe, looks very nice. I've been looking to buy a 106 old town. I fish river and I would like to start ocean fishing I think the canoe would work best. What do you think? Thanks Rick
