My Mad River Slipper (1984), fiberglass, comes in at 42 lbs after having some unnecessary items removed. I like the seat a little further back for easier control. That sitting position gets counter-balanced by putting all of the gear in the bow. Also, the seat on my Slipper is not hung; it is bolted directly to the rails which enliminates a thwart. A padded 2 inch aluminum tube is bolted to the rails at the center as an indian portage bar (it also serves as a thwart.) Thanks for the informative video.

Cut the ring holding the loop on the tie off and the carabineer will do the same exact thing. Less fuss all around

I have gone to a piece of dyneema with bungee sewn to it for shock absorption. I ditch the loop and went with a carbine only now. 👍

Thank you. I was considering a NS Northwind Solo, but I had the opportunity to demo the wilderness in T-Formex for 6 months plus with a discount I got more boat that I could have with a Northstar and my budget.

@@JimHep I have a NW Solo in the starlite layup, amazing boat. I love your Wilderness layup and have been looking at a graphite Prism in the future?

Good to see ya again Tyler, I like all your new cordura from CCS. That snap in work deck/shade is the bomb. Did you sew that up yourself or did CCS build that for you? Can't wait to see some more swamp gators in the future vids. Jeff

Hey Jeff!! Hope all is well. The sun shade is actually a seat from CCS! I bought/installed that new seat and it didn’t function at all so I salvaged it. Used the main seat as the shade and use the “pods” as stand alone pouches for my camp kitchen.

@@JimHep that is awesome! I have a FB friend that made some carbon work decks that are awesome but also rigid so a lot harder to store when removed. I like your adaptation! I may borrow if you don’t mind. Snaps are easy to install. Thanks bud! Keep up the great work!
