In the summer of 2023, Ashley and I (Keenan) drove to the Yukon for a summer of adventure and to canoe down the Big Salmon River. We would end up traveling hundreds of kilometres through the wilderness, winding our way through the mountains. We would have some amazing wildlife encounters, small rapids to run, log jams to overcome and storms to weather but it was the trip of a lifetime. We have spent many summers in the Yukon and all we can say is "what an absolutely amazing place to see and explore". This trip through remote Yukon Territory was one of the best canoe trips we've ever been on. Hope you guys enjoy the video....we are so excited to share this adventure with you.
Also wanted to say a big thank you to Doug at Nisutlin Outfitting for his help this summer. If you guys are planning a trip to the Yukon and the Big Salmon, or many of its other rivers are on your paddling list, Doug is an absolute awesome guy to deal with and can help you accomplish your trip. Thanks again Doug for your help and conversation on the road trip. We hope to see you again next summer. nisutlinoutfitting.com

How GLORIOUS, AND BEAUTIFULLY PRODUCED. Having Ashley read was a stroke of utter brilliance. There is no other youtube canoeing adventure that tops that, just Splendid. Thank you. I am so glad to see Ashley we couldnt know if shed lost desire to go with you, we always think the worst......what a joy to see all 4 of you. I wrote this poem year's ago. Alone by the River, Gazing high to the peaks, The fresh mountain wind in my hair, My soul is restored, my spirit renewed, For its God that I feel when I'm there.

This video is so good, so breathtaking, so peacefull, so full of respect for Nature, so filled with love within the team of people and dogs, so beautifully highlighted by the poems, so perfectly produced & edited. This video can be considered as a monunent to the Yukon area. It left me speachless for more than an hour. Thanks for taking us along on your trip. Very well done !!!!! Your trip epics always rekindle that fire in me for my own next adventure, and increasingly, for something much bigger than I've done before. My wife enjoyed this one with me too, staying in for the whole thing even though she said she had work to do & could only watch the first few minutes with me - ha! I thoroughly enjoyed your video and wanted to thank you for sharing your adventures. The Yukon has always held a special place for me and my family. Never been there but my grandfather did and loved to share his adventures and love for the area.. My grandfather was born in Upstate NY in 1903. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in his late teens and after spending two years stationed on Lake Ontario transferred to Junea Alaska. He absolutely fell in love with the area and would venture up and down the coast with fellow Coasties when they had time off. He eventually spent time in the Whitehorse area and after leaving the CG found work as a teacher in that area. He would spend his time off in the summers exploring and living off the land paddling the Yukon and smaller tributaries for weeks at a time. He spent over 10 years in AK and the Yukon territory before moving back to NY to be with family. He married, raised a family, and later returned back to Juneau in the 60s on a tour. I was born in the 50s and loved to hear the stories he told of paddling, camping, hunting and fishing. Usually he shared these stories while we were hunting or fishing. On several occasions he mentioned that they would pan gold from the smaller tributaries and recieved 30 dollars Canadian per ounce. He passed away in 1997 and my Mom inherited his possessions. After his passing my Mom asked for help clearing his home out to get it ready to sell. It was quite a chore and took months. My mom had seen most of his picture albums over the years but I had never seen the Yukon pictures. We also discovered a diary that she had never seen that was from his years in that area. The kicker was the maps that showed where he started these summer adventures, campsites, portage trails and even locations where they panned gold. Months later my Mom discovered a leather pouch with gold dust and small nuggets when she was going through some boxes. There were other sentimental finds with the gold that must have been just as important to him. I suggested she sell the gold and take a trip up their with my Dad but it never materialized. Mom gave me the gold and most of the other finds from that area. I treasure them all.

Ahhh...so many memories and feelings rekindled. My wife and I did this trip in the early 70's when it was still possible for me to sling a cedarstrip canoe up on my shoulders and to tromp along the portage trails. The 5 to 8 km drift of the Yukon and falling asleep to the sound of rocks rolling down an escarpment across the river. Thank you for the memories.

The most impressive thing about your Yukon trips is that you drive to them. That is a feat all on its own considering you're from Ontario (iirc). BTW, the production quality and editing of your videos is bar-setting. As much as I love the other guys' stuff in this category, I'm most excited when I see you have a new video. I stumbled on this video while watching other outdoor related content. I’m thoroughly impressed. The scenery is incredible and you both do excellent narrations. You’re voice reminds me of Kevin Bieksa, that’s intended as a compliment. Anyhow, really appreciate the work you both put into this and I’m eager to view more videos.

WOW ...amazing! Your films convey the experience of canoe tripping better than any others, love them! i'm 72 now, but canoe tripping was always our go to for vacations throughout the decades. My wife loved it as much as I, and sadly lost her to cancer 3 years ago. So many great memories, and your films rekindle them so well.
