5D Classic here! I ve been using it for years years. 2005 manufacture date. It is still usable. Even commercially. It takes brain and not money, to produce great pics. Postprocess does a lot as well. But switching to R6II next month. Cant wait.

The 5D classic produces some magic that’s never been replicated… even with the massive advancement of sensors, there was something about the classic’s sensor that is nostalgic. But the switch to the R6 II will be insane!

@@KenCreates Thank you for your answer. Hell yeah, gonna be great. I am in a desperate need of video capabilities and better focusing. Even though I learned pretty accurately how to focus via ONE center focus point, advancing in technology will help and extend my options.

The main problem i have with the 5D mark IV is its price. When comparing used prices, 5D Mark IVs still go for around 1000-1200 euro in good condition with shutter counts that are not insane. For roughly the same price (maybe 100-200 euro more) i can also pick up a R6 Mark 1, which makes the 5D Mark IV a really tough sell. Sure the resolution on the R6 is lower, but i dont think that matters much.

Wow that’s a tough choice! Here in the US used R6 mark 1s go for $1500-1700 while 5D mark IVs are going for $600-1000. If given your choice, I would probably go for the R6 with an adapter if you already have a good set of EF lenses.

Definitely appreciate this video. I want to upgrade to the 5D Mark IV. I’ll be moving from a Rebel T7. I want a mirrored also but want this professional work horse first.

I came into photography during mirrorless. However I prefer the optical view finder. Also build quality. They don’t build them like this anymore

Still using this camera to this day, bought it around 2019! I really enjoy this camera a lot, and for what I do it’s almost perfect. Just used it for a wedding and it still produce some fantastic photos. I will say as I am getting even more experience with this camera. I am learning that lighting makes it even better, which is with most cameras obviously. But this one in particular, I try to make sure my lighting are as good as it can be so the camera can really shine.

It’s almost the perfect wedding camera! I have to say I find that the 5D IV handles difficult and mixed lighting like a champ. Feed it good light and it does something magical!

You can use Tornado EOS for enabling C-Log for about 35 Bucks. Also, having this as a b cam for filming stage events, having the 4K Crop can be very useful. Throwing a 70-200 Lens you can get nice close up’s from far away. But yeah, for run and gun the crop and filesizes are bad in 4K. I‘m still using it often to film with. It just works. The camera doesn’t try anything it won’t do. But when for example the DP AF locks, you can count on it. I used a rental r5 for a few shoots and tbh, still getting back to my trusty mk4

I definitely agree that sometimes, the crop can work out in your favor. But for most run and gun applications, i feel like the 1080p is more than passable. I'm a bit astounded that people criticized this camera so much, even for it's DPAF! Saying things like it doesn't recognize faces when you're really far away (sony was admittedly better but when is it a critical difference?). Like I mentioned, the video AF is still way more reliable than my Fuji XT4 which is wayyyy newer.

@@KenCreates Yup, had the mk4 and an r5 both on a gimbal filming the same stage, i'd the feeling that the mk4 worked more reliable in about everything. wifi was more stable, dpaf was on point, etc. the r5 had problems here and there, where the mk4 did less, but as you said, more reliable.

Back to DSLR? I’ve been thinking the lenses are less and I prefer the optical viewfinder. Trying to decide 5dsr or mark 4

then you should watch my most recent video 😊 to me it’s clearly more 5D III vs 5DSR. 5d iv is a weird middle ground that’s too expensive. If you just want it cause it has that newer feel than get an R camera. Otherwise: Mark III 98% as good as a IV, and 5DSR if you are after hi resolution

@@SpencerLupul I will check it out. The R right now is more expensive then the 5dsr gray market price wise. I’d use this camera for street portraits and city architecture and some landscapes
