Graded in Premiere with Canon's CLog2-709wideDR LUT, plus some minor basic exposure and white balance correction.
Primarily a test to see how the Sigma Art 18-35 does wide open at f1.8. Every shot is at 1.8. This is also my first time using Canon RAW Light, which I'm impressed by--I was able to push and pull highlights/shadows a fair amount, which really helps show off the camera's dynamic range; lots of windows in this test footage to prove that.
I continue to be impressed by the C300 mark iii, and this lens is a really wonderful addition.

If with a sigma it looks like this, I can't imagine the image quality that would be seen with a cooke, it looks great. Beautiful pictures!

@@shukra333 ahhhh depends! I had the cooke panchro i/classics, which have that more "imperfect vintage" look--some vignetting, inconsistent bokeh, a little soft. The Sumires have similar characteristics when they're close to wide open, but when you get them to like T4.0ish, they become pretty tack sharp and modern looking. So both are pretty great choices

@@littlelanternfilms ok cody ... I saw c 300 iii video quality... Why hollywood filmmakers they wont use canon camera ... Always they use panavison 4 perf S35 & arri xt & some expensive films use arri 65...

Hi, congratulations for your work, you have created with simple shots, a very very cinematic look, and feel particular directing, and beautiful photography. The feeling is to watching real movie scenes. I have a C200, very impressed by the images, but C300 Mark III is a beast and rivals Arri or Red.

Try not to use LUTs , I’ve been shooting on C500 Mkii for 1 year and just bought the C300mkiii - my tips would be learn to grade your log footage from scratch. And avoid lut. Focus on perfect exposure and enjoy the 4K 100/120p 😀😀

This is amazing. I was wondering, how is the image quality not using RAW Light? It seems to eat up tons of storage. Also, did you find yourself worrying about memory or battery life while shooting for longer?

Thanks for watching! Using the XFAVC codec is perfect for most situations for me, it's essentially the same image quality as RAW light but just can't be pushed/pulled as far in the color grade. But being 10 bit 422, you still have plenty of wiggle room. Check out this other video I did, it's shot entirely in XFAVC... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7epgLxzz9OmhGw.html Battery: I use 96wh vmount batteries and get about 3 hours per battery. The canon BPA60s are about the same! Storage: I have four 256gb cards and haven't ever used them all on a shoot yet.

Nice vid! I’m loving my c300iii but wasn’t sure how bad the vignette would be if I got this lens, is there any when shooting in 2k/4k modes?

Why would there be vignette? aps- c lens on a super 35 sensor ... this should be a perfect match.

@@genxtechguy it’s slightly larger than APS-C. I had two APS-C lenses that showed pretty heavy vignette when in 2K/4K mode and another that showed a little vignette.

@@alexpressplay I haven't done a strict test on if there is any vignette with the slightly larger sensor, but I certainly haven't noticed it. If there is one, it's very subtle!

How do you find the 10 bit codec vs the Raw light? Can you get footage as good as this video here

Yeah I'm super impressed by the 10 bit XAVC. I've even been shooting a lot in LongGOP for doc work and it holds up very well-- I've recovered shots that are 2 stops under exposed, as well as done some decent secondary color grading it. With that said, you can definitely push and pull the RAW more, but the XAVC is plenty powerful enough for all kinds of work.
