As much as I love getting new lenses, there's one favourite that's always used to create my best work - the Canon EF 24-70 2.8 II. Here's a quick review reflecting this lens in 2021.

Nice, I picked the 24-70 would be the lens and I'm glad you mentioned that "this is MY style of work". I've had many moments where I thought about selling my 24-70 and then I have a moment of clarity and think to myself "It's just too versatile to get rid of".

Yes, it is a very useful lens for a wide variety of situations, while upholding great optimal quality. It may not be able to stand up to the best primes, particularly when it comes to maximum aperture and therefore low light performance, but it is hard to deny its great versatility and overall quality. An excellent workhorse.

Nice! I’ll have to second your thoughts on the 24-70. Although I shoot Fujifilm these days, that’s the lens I also go for when working. Sprinkling in some 70-200 action when I can’t get close to the subject. 👍🏻😀

i prefer 24-105 range. to be honest i'd happily go for 24-200 or something, but there are no such zooms for 5Ds. BTW, thanks for recommending me that camera some time ago!

Im having a car shooting on a Mountain pass in a few weeks and im thinking of renting a really good lens, as my only good lens is the 50mm 1.8. Do you recommend the 24-70 more or the 70-200?

Great video! Is the Canon EF 24-70 2.8L II good for some action/sports photography? Would the autofocus keep up with fast moving subjects? Currently using 24-105 f4L IS II. Thinking of trying this 24-70 F2.8 aperture zoom lens. Your inputs would really help me. Thank you!

Depends which sports and how light there is. 70mm might not be enough reach for you. Generally for sports, I use 135mm f2 or 70-200 f2.8 for reach

Hi Easton, Beautiful photos! And good points, brand agnostic. I’m curious, are you using a Canon body or the Sony A7R4 with the MC-11 ef to e adapter?
