Cool little 3rd party grip. Can give you that extra time needed when heading out to shoot either photo or video. Takes a bit of time to ship, but still kinda cool. I had no idea Canon didn't make a grip for the M50. I picked up a M50 and a Small Rig cage about a month ago, looking around for a battery grip I came across your video here. Amazing little 3rd party grip, thanks for doing this review!

I have the same set up with the cage. Yes the SD card is a bit difficult to retrieve but with the long battery life you can just connect a cable from the camera to your computer and download the pictures. The longer battery life will be a great asset for timed photos. Two minor problems I encountered is that the screw that connects to the camera starts to loosen after awhile so I used plumbing tape. The second is that the grip's battery cover will pop off when the battery pack is jostled, a stronger magnet would be better. Lastly I cover that gaping hole at the bottom with electrical tape, a magnetic cover would be nice to seal the whole grip. Now I don't have to carry multiple batteries but I did purchase a two battery charger (NiteCore) on Amazon.

That company looks like a pretty good resource. I hope they expand their selection as at this point there is nothing for my Rebel T5i.

Sadly I dont have a link. I bought mine from Walmart.com but the ones i bought arent there any more. Just search for 18650 battery on their site. And again dont buy anything that is above 3800mAh as the company that sells the grip explained that they are not true and usually worse than the smaller batteries.

the ones that i bought were not available, but i just bought them from Walmart online. Im sure that you can just do a search there to find many options. Or amazon. I just wanted to buy from a place that had a good return policy just incase the batteries were not the correct ones.

Any info on how long you can record 4k24 for assuming two 3200mah batteries or similar?

With an original 875mah it last about 1:40h, with 3200mah it will probably last 6h and something

I have a Custom 3D printed grip, and you can find the plans for free. My friend has a 3D printer so he made it to me for free. It just connects via the tripod screw at the bottom of the camera..

Nice. But need to have a 3D printer! Or someone that has one. Plus all the battery connectors. Be cool if I had all the stuff already but for me, it's just easier to drop a few bucks and buy it. 😁. But still cool.

@@gregtoope the batteries sure are a plus, but if you don't need it, the free 3D printed grip is just a matter of comfort, as the m50 doesn't fit comfortably in bigger hands.. but this grip you're talking about sure is a great addition to the limited battery time in the m50.

@@gregtoope sorry, I should clarify, it looks uncomfortable, with poor ergonomics. Grips should try to embrace and flow with the original Canon ergonomicsw which are usually quite good.

@@Tlathos and that doesnt help those that already own an M50 plus the 90D costs twice as much as the M50. These 2 cameras arent even in the same category.
