I just got the RP. I also got the 35mm f/1.8 lens, which is great. Unfortunately, the control ring on the 24-105mm f/4-7.1 kit lens does not work. No matter what I set it to, nothing happens when I turn the ring.

This is by far the most informative video in regards to figuring out how to use the control ring that I've seen! Thank you for the step by step details it was greatly appreciated!

This is so helpful for users trying to work out what the "hold meter.btn" is. In the "Advanced R6 Manual" that button is called the "Shutter Button". Nowhere in this 880 page manual does it refer to it as the "meter.btn". Thanks for taking the time to explain the Control Ring settings, T. Frank. Big Thumbs Up!

Worth mentioning: the reason one might be stumped at why it isn't working is the side of the lens has a Focus/Control setting. I wish I'd known that half an hour ago.

Some of the RF lenses have a mode button on the lens to either allow the control ring to work to control the set function or just for focusing.
