If the film is on 3 Can you still shoot on the film after you remind it? I just bought a secondhand aps film camera and i found a 16 year old aps film that I had from my first camera, but once i out it in the camera it showed 25 but because the camera battery Cap is loose the camera turned off because i forgot to hold it down, When i turned the camera back on the camera was showing a backwards 3 and i could’nt fully turn on the camera to take a picture and on the film roll it now shows #3. Is it the camera that isnt working or the film that is bad🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi @aggelikix, thanks for your comment. In my opinion I would say go and buy that SLR. APS film is old and not made any more. This means any photo you take may not turn out where as with 35mm you can buy brand new film that wont let you down. I'd really only ever use APS for photos I don't care about. Plus it is very automatic, a fancy but fun point and shoot. If you want to play with f-stops and ISO, then an SLR is the way to go, plus you will have a nice choice of lenses too, giving you more options.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Sadly no; it's not a digital camera so the only way you could keep digital copies on your comp is by scanning the physical photos.

I love APS, I use it when I can these days, but I'm generally too busy to take the time and enjoy it.

Hi, the film is no longer made. You can still find new-old stock on eBay by searching "APS Film" but remember it's old, there is no guarentee it will work as intended.

Hi Mila, no problem, the more info the better. Regrettably I do not know of any fix and I highly doubt there would be one. It sounds like your Ixus has fired its last shot I'm afraid. I certainly would advise you NOT to have it repaired, the cost of repairing it would be higher than the value of the camera. Last time I checked on eBay they were still fairly cheap, there were even cheaper APS cameras if you're not overly bothered about what you're shooting with. But if you can get an Ixus II then do so and keep the damaged one for parts (this is because parts alone in the future will be hard to find). As for film; certainly wait until you have a camera that appears to be working and where possible try to buy film that is sealed and has been kept refrigerated. Great question! I don't use it so much these days unfortunately, for 2 reasons. I have a lot of cameras and I'm always getting new ones to play with, and sadly film is hit and miss. You can spend a small fortune and end up with film that gives you nothing as it's so old. It's a worth a play around if you've some money to waste but these days it's not something I'd recommend as a daily/regular shooter.

Hi, the only place you can really get it from these days is eBay or similar. Be warned though, the film will be out of date and you may not get good photos as a result. It's a gamble, but all part of the fun really. Try buy film that's been kept in a cool dark place to keep the odds in your favour.

Sure, it's 'APS Film'. I tend to pick mine up from eBay or similar sites. As it's now such an an old film stock you are best off buying as "new" of a roll as possible and if it's been refrigerated that will also help with the final result.

i saw some on amazon but for 100$ a cartridge.

You just need some APS film, a CR2 battery and a trip to the late 90's :)

I took mine to Australia in 2000 for some sneaky concert shots(had to wait for the right "bright" moments), they turned out so well that my wife(girlfriend at the time) bought one too. :)

Congrats to you and the wife! I bet you both enjoyed the concert a lot more given that you had no screen to instantly check photos on too!

We were in the front row for 5 nights....even with checking a digital screen I would have caught the same thing the next show....:):) I would kill to go back in time with my D90 and my 35mm f1.8. The D90 is old now but still does the trick...:):):)

Old isn't always bad ;) I love my D5100, the IXUS II goes every where with me but so does the Nikon.

Hi Sienna, Yes I do. But I'm in the middle of moving house right now, they are packed away somewhere. They were terrible though, I think the film was bad. There seems to be enough interest though that I may take some more once I'm settled and post them in a new vid.

eBay is you best bet, perhaps Amazon too. But remember any film you buy will differ in quality due to age of manufacture and how it's been stored, this will only show once the photo's have been developed. Also, before you buy, make sure you have a place you can actually have the photo's processed. I believe a special machine is needed so it's best asking your local store before you commit.
