The voltage output of the dummy battery is 8.2volts while the stock battery is 7.2v to 7. 4v, do you think its safe to use dummy battery? I'm using SuniMix dummy battery anyway.

It says suitable for all cameras 7.2-8.4 look at the Amazon link and feedback I used it for 2 years. Then sold the m50.

I picked up a m50 mkii after my m50 and works great with that. I've used it about a year with zero problems.

I had an m50 act funny after about 6 months from the time I used a generic dummy battery...it worked but sometimes would just freeze or stop recording when I used it for things. Problem is I couldn't pinpoint it the battery did it or is it was something else. I started streaming again recently with a new m50 and was scared to use another dummy battery lol but also its frustrating having to swap batteries mid stream.

Each camera would be specific to its brand. This is aftermarket one I'm using and not all aftermarket stuff has a good reputation. So its important to do your research.

Yes I use it all the time with a tripod. when the battery door is closed you have just enough room with a smaller tripod plate.

@Native722 it's been years but go to 8:30 in the video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kMCofbymm7-to2Q.htmlsi=hMz0xlANSJG_Gbi0. The usb cord let's you connect to canon software mentioned and hdmi will be for streaming at 1080p you use the app to stop the camera from shutting off after 30min. Plus the software is useful for setting white balance and iso. Lmk how you make out.
