I am honestly so excited for this series! My new M50 arrived today and I need help 😂 I started with the G7x mark ii and since upgrading to the mark iii I’ve had massive autofocus issues even since the update. I feel like it’s not such an issue when vlogging as I do lots of shorter clips, but when I go to edit sit down videos it’s 😩 as I’m in and out of focus. Probably because I talk with my hands too much and it confuses the camera 😂

Super excited for this series! Your earlier videos about the M50 and the sigma 16 lens were huge factors in my purchase and I really feel like it’s stepped up my footage for my channel.....but I’m still not “there” with it. This series will be really helpful!

I have (and love) the original M50. It fits in perfectly between my RP and my 70D. I won’t be buying the Mark 2 mostly because it will cost too much to sell and re-buy for just the firmware updates. If they added 4K without a crop and dual pixel auto focus in all modes, I would buy it in an instant. I would however, pay up towards $150.00 to get the firmware update if offered. Just like they did sell the upgrade to C-log for the EOS 5D Mk3. They could also update the M5 to match the M6 MK2 hardware/software spec and have viewfinder, flippy screen and 3 dedicated dials for direct control. That would be worth the $1200.00 that canon would charge. (With 4K uncropped, clean HDMI out, and a bigger battery). But they won’t.

The good thing about having a black mk I and a white mk II M50 is when you're in a rush you know that slipping the white camera in your bag you know for sure you're taking the mark II. Because of the lack of clean HDMI on the mark 1, I bought the SL3/250D before Canon released the mark 2. At some point I can see me purchasing the mark 2 as the M50 is such a compact light weight thing, especially handy for someone with mobility issues like me. Great video and good to hear your view.

I got the M50 mk1 for my daughter yesterday. It’s all they had in stock and got a 55-200mm thrown in for free!

Off-topic questions: 1. The Weebil S is newer than the Weebil Lab, no? 2. How do you change batteries when using the M50 with a gimbal? Is there a way to just power it with a powerbank and put it on the gimbal? Specifically asking for the Mark 1.

I’ve been thinking about this for the vertical video feature for youtube shorts or tiktok or reels ! It’s so much easier than having to flip the camera in post if you’re filming a ton of clips!!

Glitch on M50ii. The viltrox speed booster and nifty fifty won’t work. The camera goes crazy. On the mark 1 does work wonderfully. I have both. Waiting for a firmware update but ai haven’t seen it on canon’s website yet as of October 2021

Do you face issue in m50 mark ii when vidoe is recorded the custom thumbnail is not showing up.. Its black when saved in card and transfer to pc both side it shows black without custom thumbnail.. Are you facing same problem?

I never got the m50 but was super excited to get the m50 mark II, but after the release I was super disappointed. Unfortunately it’s way too average to what is available for a little more. Now I may end up spending a bit more, leaving Canon and getting the Fuji x-s10. I need ibis and it would be nice to have decent 4K for a bit of future proofing. Why Canon... Why?😔🤦‍♂️

I've been having a hard time deciding between this camera, and the Canon m6 (what the cannon m50 should have been in terms of 4k). Is the stability of the m50 as good as say Samsung phone stability (I use it for my vlogs abd it's great)

If you want to shoot 4k with decent Auto focus stay away from this camera! Also when was the last time Canon released a lens for this mount? The m mount is most likely going to die soon and it would be unwise to invest in this camera line. The rumoured m5ii or m7 will not be coming
