That's really pushing the upper range of the trombone to make it sound that much like a French horn. Magnificent! Also, the editing qualities on these one person videos always fascinate me!

Thrx Wolf well if it’s a cue then it’s written in tuba range, so no. If you can play the trombone part to any given piece then you’re good

The range isn't terribly impressive, not to diminish how high that upper D is but it's not the most impressive part to me. The tone and control up there is really what pushes it towards that French Horn sound.

Damn, he did this by himself over multiple recordings, imagine how boring it must’ve been to play the bottom line, just playing g the same thing over and over again alone for nearly 7 minutes.

@@melodycervantes4167 so basically you can play different notes without moving the slide on the trombone and to play higher or lower you use your lips. To play higher you compress your air stream and use a tighter space between your lips. Playing above 3 lines above the staff starts to take an immense amount of lip strength and air pressure. I hope this answers your question

I dont think they tongue enough. Every time they try to move slide positions it glisses a little bit and it makes the whole thing sounds sloppy. But it is consistantly like this, which may mean it's a choice to play it like this, which I support. Overall it's very nice to listen to.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd trombone are playing 32nd and 16th notes while the 4th is playing quarter notes.

William Kircher nah his articulation was probs the best other than his tone because range is a thing everyone can get eventually and this guy is like 40

Yeah, there was a lot of what sounded like glissandos when going from far positions to short ones and vice versa. I bet one thing that could help him would be (if he can’t articulate well) using more flat 4th positions when playing a D instead of going all the way back to first.
