Im using this cam too, also for spotting planes. Have bought Varta 2100 mah AA accus and they Last much longer than common batteries. This camera i've got for 113€ in Amazon. Im really really impressed by the Features. Just wow

I had bought this in 2012 something, for about INR 9k, which is USD 110 something today approx, and I can attest that this little beast only has issue with not being able to shoot raw, this camera produces much, much better photos if you can edit a little for light exposure after the fact on computer. Was ahead of anything that was present in the market at that time tbh. And yes, ease of carrying over DSLR is really underrated point, I went on many treks with this one. Most importantly, it teaches basics of manual mode shooting (It's not close to anything fancy, but it does give a basic idea). This one still works fine and dandy, by the way, and I was a rough user after initial awe period fade. I'm considering buying Nikkon z 30 now, just to keep the hobby going. Waiting for price to drop a little.

The stabilization is good, you can see how smooth it was when i was panning and moving around. But yes, I should upload another clip walking around.

Edit: unfortunately I didn't get it, starting bid at 20, last bid was 70 usd which I think its not that worth to spend more on the old camera and I found even better camera around 120 bucks 😅

Yesterday I was comparing RAW image quality of Samsung Galaxy S20+ with this Canon (using CHDK to get DNG files) and I can tell that S20+ has much less image noise and better lens flare handling than this Canon. :D Only thing that this camera has better is the ability to use optical zoom.

Yes, optical zoom is the reason I like shooting with this camera over my phone. I find it much better than regular digicams (this was from 2011) and more convenient than using a DSLR. Again, this is an old model and newer models are great improvements (I did own a Canon SX510 five years ago). Thanks for the feedback.

@@unbroken1010 yup. the camera doesn't have Bluetooth or anything, so either buy a card reader so you can put the pics in your laptop, or a card adaptor for your phone. the card reader would be cheaper. good luck man.

Awesome video! I own this camera right now, but I do not like its battery life. With normal Energizer alkalines, I only get around 15-20 minutes continuous battery life for shooting. What batteries do you recommend for this unit?

Hello Kenneth! I recommend NiMH rechargeables, they hold power longer. I have seen those dummy batteries that will allow you to connect to a powerbank, that would be awesome. Another thing to look out for... same thing happened to me, battery dies quickly. The secret is to get a cotton buds and wipe the contacts on the battery compartment, you will notice battery life improvement immediately. For shooting videos, you better check out the ACK800-DRDC10 dummy battery to connect to powerbank via usb.

I had same issue. Power runs out quickly with AA batteries when filming videos. You need a camera that uses lithium batteries.

No you cant. Even if you do, it runs on AA batteries which easily die out when shooting videos.

Hello Skye! The video and image quality is good enough. However, this runs on AA batteries and more suited for shooting stills. You can get infinite power using ACK800+DRDC10 which can be connected to wall outlet or power bank. You can find later models of this camera which runs on lithium battery.
