Hi there, welcome to my channel where I share tips and tricks on how to use your Canon PowerShot V10. In this video, I'm going to show you how to update the firmware of your camera to the latest version, which is 1.0.1. This firmware fixes an issue where the camera stops working when live streaming is interrupted due to the network environment. Updating the firmware is easy and only takes a few minutes, so let's get started.
First, you need to download the firmware file from the Canon website. You can find the link here:
www.usa.canon.com/support/p/p...
Make sure you choose the right version for your operating system, whether it's Windows or macOS. Once you have downloaded the file, unzip it (for Windows) or open up the Dmg file (on Mac) and copy the FIR file to a microSD card that has been formatted in the camera.
Next, insert the microSD card into the camera and turn it on. Press the MENU button and go to the settings tab. Scroll down to Firmware update and press OK. The camera will display the current firmware version and the new firmware version. Press OK again to start the update process.
The camera will show a progress bar and a message saying "Do not turn off or remove battery". Wait until the update is complete and the camera restarts automatically. Do not touch any buttons or switches during this time.
Finally, you can check if the update was successful by going back to the Firmware update menu and confirming that the new firmware version is displayed. You can also check the firmware version by pressing and holding the INFO button for a few seconds.
That's it! You have successfully updated the firmware of your Canon PowerShot V10.
I also had tried using the Canon Camera app to update the firmware version 1.0.1 which almost bricked the camera. See what happened in the video.
