Hi guys, this vlog has produced some interesting comments! I think many people are under the illusion if you own and buy an expensive camera you should always get amazing results! How wrong they are! 😂👍

The ones complaining there isn’t enough ‘action’ content are probably the ones sat on their sofas, while you were the one who made the effort to go out there on foot in harsh conditions to see what was around & bring those of us that do appreciate it, this vlog. Nothing is guaranteed with wildlife, but you sure won’t see it if you don’t put in the time & effort. Keep on keeping on mate! As the saying goes, you can’t please all the people all the time…. I have a pair of the merino wool liners and standard glove by Vallerette. Love the gloves, but the liners have holes in the tips of the fingers after only wearing them about a half dozen times. Vallerette are replacing the liners at this time but I haven’t received them yet. The little pocket on the back of the glove is also good for a heat pack. I find putting one pack in he pocket and one inside the glove works the best in single digit temperatures. I also purchased a pair of camo gloves on Amazon that were very cheap and seem to be very good quality.

That R3 sure looks like an absolute beast regarding autofocus! Happy with my R5 + 1Dx ii atm, but I can't deny that I'm getting more and more intrigued XD I'm having another decision to make atm, tho (which I thought would be easy but turned out to be quite tough)... I got lucky and got a 600 f4 is ii for a good price and am now trying to decide between my 500 f4 is ii and that 600. One will be sold, but which? What's your take on the subject? Having had a 600 for a long time, do you miss the 100mm (or 140mm with the TC) all that much? I'm really torn, as I'm very used to the 500. The 500 is lighter, smaller and more nimble, but the 600 mark ii isn't thaaat much heavier and gets me closer. In short, would you trade the 500 for the 600 if you had the chance to do so? (no pressure, I know I have to make the decision myself, just interested to hear your opinion ^^)
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for watching, I really am chuffed to bits with it and after spending all my hard earned cash it's just as well, lol.. Thanks for asking, the 600mm is 1.5 pounds heavier I think which is noticeable and I have had a try with a 600mm and was really impressed. Do I miss the 100mm, I'd say YES but the added advantage of being lighter and smaller with the 500mm allows me to get that much closer with regards to my fieldcraft. I went with the 500mm over the 600mm due to the added cost at nearly £1500 pounds or so more, adding the 1.4 TC gives me the reach I need without too much loss in AF and quality so I went with it, and to be honest I am glad I did. I was quite surprised how small the 500mm was over the 600mm and it fits nicely in all my bags, where as the 600 was always a bit of a squeeze, lol... If I was you and you could have both, keep them! But honesty if I had the 5 & 6 I'd sell the 500mm! Quite an easy one for me as I've had the 600mm F4 Mk 1 and it served me well. I hope that helps a little.. Cheers R
@laku4412
@laku4412 2 жыл бұрын
@@RichardBirchett Some very good points, thanks so much for the long and detailed answer! Unfortunately, I can't afford keeping both, one has to go XD (but daaaaamn do I feel lucky for being able to choose!) Aaahhh yes, I'm already starting to notice the bag-problem XD I also noticed that I have to stop the 600 down a tad bit more to get the desired depth of field and the shorter MFD of the 500 helps in tight woodland. Oh well, either one is fantastic, both sure have their strengths... Comes down to style and preference, I guess. Thanks anyway, it really helps to hear the opinion of someone who had the 600 for such a long time! Cheers!

@@laku4412 My pleasure, thats a real shame but having them both side by side must be a nice lens selection! Shall it be the 500 or 600 today! Enjoy them both while you can... @@RichardBirchett Hello Richard I did contact the company who told me to "make sure the magnets were dead inline " which seems to work on the finger (for a while) but not on the thumb I think the suede is too thick and not that convenient if you have to pull them back quickly as we have to with wildlife at times ,They are really well made gloves no getting away from it with some nice touches the grip material is really good and the small zip pockets on the back one has a small key attached for fastening tripod plates to your camera but for me they are more for landscape photographers who have the time to fiddle with them more a fashion accessory I think but as I said they are not very warm though with a caveat I do suffer with vibration white finger which means my hands get cold easily & they are very painful I think the import bill I got was £34 on top of the 80 euro for the gloves plus around 8 euro postage so turned out to be expensive gloves they are the markhof pro v3 the ones I have used for the last few years aren`t dedicated photography gloves and I got them from Mountain warehouse I took a photo but cant seem to upload it ?
